Default what are some best jeans?

I've recently seen on Levi's that they sell jeans that are waterproof? Even some of their denim jackets are water proof as well. I'm not sure if this is a new thing or maybe because getting soaked would make denims smell or if being dry is always a good thing when it rains?

    Levi's always come to mind.

I could go by what's on this top 10 list as well:

    https://www.thetoptens.com/top-ten-brands-jeans/

or some more obscure brands as well:

    Interesting. Hadn't seen that before.

I like so many brands of jeans. Levi's, Calvin Klein, Armani and recently Diesel are some of them. I felt impressed by the variety of models, cuts and colors of Diesel. It's like Levi's.
There are some unknown brands I like as well.

Yeah me either. The jeans will be marked with a "Water<Less" label so you know it's water proof.

I've always preferred the plain standard version of Levi's jeans. Hopefully waterproof won't feel like coated in plastic.

Haven't found anything to replace my favorite NYDJs since they started putting weird synthetic fibers in them.

Oh, for the good old days of the thick cotton Calvins in the '80s. I guess it's back to plain Levis, though I've never gotten a proper fit in them.

(I seem to be able to turn anything into a vintage thread.)

This seems like it would make them non-breathable and sweaty.

I used to wear Levi's White Tab and then moved on to Paul Smith's Red Ear.

These days I rarely wear jeans at all. They make me feel scruffy and I feel a little too old for them. Now I've whittled my wardrobe down to two pairs of Alexander McQueen jeans for when the notion takes me (both, boringly identical.) I've had them for years and they wash well, never need ironed and are still in great condition.

100% cotton jeans are making a comeback. They're called "rigid jeans" in the industry (as opposed to stretchy).

Maybe if they make them rigid enough they can supplant that knee- or hip-replacement surgery that probably lies further down the road in so many of our futures.

We can wear them when we go see that 40th anniversary of the Rolling Stones "Steel Wheel(chair)s" tour in 2029.

This just reminded me a great Stones quip I heard a while back from a standup comic. He's on a big rant about environmental degradation, and he turns on the audience and very grimly says "People, this is not a laughing matter, this is extremely important. We have got to start giving some very serious thought to what kind of a world we want to leave for Keith Richards to inherit."

Some favourite brands: Diesel, Mavi, Replay. French Connection in the UK also do some good things. Did someone talk about ironing jeans? Never! Also, I wash them seldom.

Levi's 501 use to be thick cotton. I found some pairs of thick Diesels as well. You should take a look at them.

My favorite brand by far is Rock Revival. Never mind the funky embellished pockets or the fact that they're made in Vietnam: these are incredibly high quality jeans that are worth the $160 price tag. The denim on Rocks is high-grade heavyweight Japanese denim, the sewing is impeccable, and they come in a lot of styles. Most stores that carry Rocks only have a 34" inseam, but Buckle stocks exclusive inseams from 30" to 38" - I fit great in the 36" with my long legs.

I also like Levi's a lot, and I wore them exclusively for years. Favorite fit is the 559, which is a similar feel to the Rock Revival original straight fit.

Express also has great-fitting jeans as long as you're into lightweight denim. I'm not.

Worst jeans I've tried are probably Buckle's BKE house brand. They suffer from crotch rip or pilling within months. Suddenly, $160 for Rock Revivals doesn't sound bad when you end up buying 4 pairs of BKEs at $70 a pop over the lifespan of one pair of Rocks.
It's really quite pleasant, except for the smell (...)
