Default 1981 Givenchy Ad for Monsieur and Gentleman

I like this ad, supposedly from 1981, of Monsieur de Givenchy (discrete masculine) and Givenchy Gentleman (passionate masculine).

These are two of my favorites, similar to Chanel Pour Monsieur and Chanel Antaeus.

Love it! Thanks for posting. There is a similar plurality between Z-14 and 1-12, I think. Ah, the good old days....

    Love the contrast!

Did y'all notice ... they are 220 ml hoglegs. Whoa.

What I would give to find one of these in some Goodwill store or estate sale. If only ...

I see the 220-ml bottles online sometimes, more often as aftershaves than edt's. It's a great size for these two. I'd especially like 220-ml sprays instead of splashes.

Yes, very nice ad. This duo could be taken as a complete wardrobe, I must admit... Why someone would need more than these two? Hmmm...
(now thinking about my (so many) bottles...)

It takes a lot of collecting to figure out how well these two would work as a complete wardrobe!

Funny how this older style of advertising ends up being more persuasive than the oversexed modern style in the end - the simple framing of the shot, the Givenchy G's as a background, the uniformity of the two bottle styles - it's not only convincing us to buy the product, but to sell off all our other frags!!!
