    Default Newb Fall/Winter Blast

    Hi,

I am looking to get myself going with a small rotation of fragrances to suit a 28 year old male for the UK fall/winter months. Hopefully based upon the fragrances I have/tried already and the notes associated within those that yous could please maybe help recommend others to try out or narrow it down to suit the two categories below (maybe your own personal choices for each category?)

It seems I maybe lean toward Gourmand/Spicy/Orientals, but I am not sure. I am more like a fart in a space suit at the moment and can't seem to narrow down what I like.

I have sampled a few different fragrances previously and if I have liked any I did not make the step to purchase them and then I end up forgetting why I liked them (Although a few expectations that I can remember).

I am looking to keep it pretty simple and keep to two 'categories' as such. I will be looking to add to each at a later time to build up a collection but I will be working toward 2 - 3 in each category for the time being.

One category of 2 - 3 fragrances that would be for all general daily use (lazing at home, for work, hanging out with friends, nipping out for a pint of milk etc.).

Second category of 2 - 3 fragrances that would be for more specific occasions. Aiming for a mysterious and alluring vibe - I am perceived as quiet and reserved according to peers (For formal events, nights out/bar/clubs, date nights etc.).

At the moment I currently have a bottle of the following:

    - EDT and EDP V&C Midnight in Paris
    - EDT Nina Ricci Memorie D'Homme

The following are samples that I recall having sampled recently and a few I remember liking:

    - Viktor & Rolf - Spice Bomb (Love both editions of this)
    - CH Men Prive
    - Armani Code Profumo
    - D&G The one For Men EDP (Like it - just the longevity lets it down)
    - Pineapple Vintage Noir (Love it)
    - Creed Aventus (Love it)
    - Valentino Uomo Intense (Love it)
    - M7 Oud Absolu (Vaguely remember liking this)

    Thank you.

Welcome to you soapybubbles! Enjoy your time here at Basenotes! For the first category - Mugler Cologne and Burberry London might work.

Midnight in Paris is a great start. Would also recommend trying Pure Malt by Thierry Mugler, Eau des Baux by L'Occitane, Carven Homme, and Burberry London.

    The first category:

Cedre Atlas. Shares a fruity/woody vibe with Aventus. Very pleasant and safe imo. Must like apricot though.
Cologne of the Missions. Slightly boozy and smokey vanilla. Also very pleasant and safe, and a true steal for its price.

    The second category:

Endymion. A romantic spicy and aromatic scent. Fresh and clean, with a twist of incense and coffee to keep things interesting.
Royal Oud. Creamy and exotic woods with a hint of spice. Sophisticated yet inviting. Cannot recommend this enough.

+1 for Endymion. Lovely offering from Penhaligon. Lovely and rounded, sweet yet fresh. It doesn't last particularly well but overspray before leaving and grab yourself a decent atomiser and you can top up accordingly! That being said, I'll notice it on myself for 5-6 hours with 4 sprays.
