    Default Your Christmas Haul

By far my most fragrant Christmas ever.

    My haul:
    Herod
    Pegasus
    Gio Profumo Special Blend
    Polo Red Extreme
    Armani Stronger With You
    Coach for Men

All my loved ones know I love scents, they copied my wish list from my wife. I racked up!

Any great hauls under your trees?

    How's the Coach scent?

No hauls for me. Nobody gets me fragrances since they all think I have enough already. They don't understand...you can never have enough.

Wow, very nice! I'm not at the point where my friends and family would know to give me fragrances as a gift. Not yet, anyway! Please report back on your favorites.

Very nice! That is one that I almost bought, years ago, and have intermittent regrets about not getting. Looks beautiful!

Very interested to hear your take on these, Ken. I never heard of Kobako, but this sounds like a real hidden gem. I need this one. Zara scent too - very interested in hearing about it.

Gotta run for a while - back later!

Glad to answer with any bit of info/data known so far.
Zara Norrland is an inexpensive, yet also underrated gem in the style of TDH by Hermes, so most likely a valid choice to go choice for everyone into the TDH line plus flankers, but also TF Grey Vetiver EDP, as well as three other TDH-style renditions by other houses: Yardley Citrus & Wood, L'Erbolario Ginepro Nero, Yves Rocher Cuir Vetiver.

As for Kobako, was impressed as to how this rather classic floral sandalwood, released first in 1936 and experiencing, both a re-edition and another surge in popularity during the 1980s (as it does have a certain "powerhouse DNA" to it, yet rendered more subtly and powdery) is on par with other great interbellum scents:
Je Reviens by Worth, several feminine and, to a lesser extent, powdery, floral masculine Carons, Arden Blue Grass from the same year.

... thanks, yeah, an especially nice one. It`s in fact my woman`s recent fave for herself. But I wear it with pleasure from time to time. We own a half full vintage EdT bottle. This EdP is to make the vintage one last a little bit longer

T'is better to give than receive.....gifted my wife two by Frederic Malle. Bigarade Concentree and Vetiver Extraordinaire,
Might seem like buying your kid something that you will use more than they will, but in this case those work better on her.
The only down side is that I sprayed POAL on my wrist while purchasing and now I really want it!

Not so good here. My wife bought me a 100ml bottle of Tom Ford Noir Extreme from Selfridges. The fragrance is clearly 'off' - smells terrible, no depth or development and the notes aren't identifiable. Very heavy alcohol and has been burning my nostrils all day. Feel sad for my wife and I'm pretty annoyed, to be honest. We'll have to sort out returning it now.

On the plus-side I'm happy because my wife loves her Bottega Veneta Pour Femme

That's really too bad because Noir Extreme is one of my favorites. Put it on first thing this morning. Good luck with returning it.

Congrats ....that's one lucky tree...!! If I may ask the source for Kiehl's musc oil as I have been searching for it but haven't had luck so far....I searched at Frankfurt airport / Dallas in Texas but couldn't locate it .....is there a legit source which can be tapped for international shipping ?

Hi, she's philosophical about it but a little disappointed, particularly as she spent a good half-an-hour or more testing a few and has said it smells nothing like the tester she based her decision on.

It's weird, the box was cellophane wrapped but it's like it [the fragrance itself] has been stripped of all its features having been sat on a window sill for months. It smells like a cheap, non-descript female floral oriental, heavy on alcohol and synthetics without depth or development - nothing. There's no vanilla, no creaminess, no spices, no kulfi, nothing. Really, very odd indeed.
