    Default Sonoma Scent Studio

I don't recall exactly how it came to pass that I reached out to Miss Laurie Erickson / Sonoma Scent Studio early on in my fragrant journey, but over the years I've been fortunate enough to enjoy a couple dozen 1ml samples of her finely crafted fragrances.

Unfortunately, I also remember an occasion (or three?) of filling the online shopping cart with a few 34ml bottles, hovering over that 'PLACE ORDER' button, only to come to grips with a convincing conscious telling me of the more important things to be doing with that particular money... and that soon enough, bottles of Fireside Intense, Winter Woods, Tabac Aurea, and Incense Pure would find their way into my collection... but just not now. Well...would-a-could-a-should-a!

I read here from Laurie of her plans for SSS.

So, I guess this is more or less a heads-up FYI to all familiar with her and the Sonoma Scent Studio brand. Changes are a brewin'.

    Thank you Laurie Erickson!

Purchased bottles of Winter Woods and Incense Pure a while back. Great fragrances and very good Customer Service. I applaud and respect her decision to take care of her parents. They took care of us, now it's our turn. May GOD bless her!

I'll cherish my bottle of Winter Woods...I've been trying to buy a bottle this past year (on and off) of Fireside Intense, however, the cart was always down. Damn shame I missed out on it permanently. I wish Laurie the best in taking care of her parents.

Thanks for posting this. l had heard that Laurie was letting the business go, but reading her post makes it more understandable. l am cherishing what's left of my decant of Champagne de Bois, which l was lucky to get along with a few other samples of hers, when one of the sampling sites still carried them.

Thank you Laurie for sharing your beautiful perfumes with us, & good luck to the new owners!

I can understand why she’s doing it but Laurie Erickson IS Sonoma Scent Studio. Without her SSS is just another fragrance house IMO. I hope the new owners are savvy enough to retain her original best selling compositions and scale it up for international shipping. I’ve been trying to buy her stuff for years and only manage to get decants from decanting sites or the occasional sale from individuals. Even better is for them to engage her as the part time /(in-house) perfumer focussing solely on composing and not the other dreary stuff like inventory or shipping. It’ll be a shame to let her perfumery talent go. Far easier to pick up Adobe Illustrator then it is to have a nose to compose great fragrances IMO.

I wish Laurie well in her next adventure. Her fans (myself included) will always be supportive.

I'm sorry to see Laurie moving on to new things, but hope it's a great new adventure for her! Her fragrances were outstanding - so little known, though, a shame, really.

I'm super happy to own bottles of Ambre Noir, Fireside Intense, Forest Walk, Incense Pure, Tabac Aurea and Winter Woods from her amazing collection. Small 34ml bottles, but so full of happiness and vivid imagery. I hope Laurie finds someone to take over the line and perhaps even do some marketing - her fragrances are truly outstanding quality and deserve to be much more recognized, at the very least in this smelly community.

When I read her notification the other day it said she would still be selling some by email until the new ownership took over.

Still no response to that email. It's been about a week.

Have not tried any SSS yet and may have missed the boat.

Still a little hope I guess.

Good to know. I was just looking around on eBay again for Fireside Intense but of course it's nowhere to be found.

Fortuitous!, I had just received notice of a few bottles for sale (at a prohibitive premium) on eBay and now this. Best of luck to the new owner and hopefully s/he'll retain Tabac Aurea and the others in identical form.

This is EXCELLENT NEWS!!! I've been so sad to have missed a FB of Forest Walk and Winter Woods, but especially Forest Walk. I got a nice sample four or five years back and when I went to actually purchase a bottle of Forest Walk, SSS had closed down. Hope it's the same as it was when Laurie was making it...

Surprised to hear of all the love for her other fragrances - Tabac Aurea was the one everyone raved about. I bought it a few years ago and dealt with her by email as the cart was down.

It always felt like she needed someone to handle the social media/marketing/website part of the business so she could go and be a perfume artist.

Tabac Aurea is as good a tobacco fragrance as you will find - I just assumed the others were average at best but based on this thread it sounds like she was a great talent.

    Resurrecting this thread.

Sonoma Scent Studio is back up - https://sonomascentstudio.com

I didn't get an email notification of the reopening.

The new owner appears to have all of Laurie's scents available - in 15 and 30ml format.

There seems to be a flat rate of $12 for the United States and Canada. That's not bad at all.
