Default If you were to name your child after a fragrance, which one will it be?

Crazy, I know (LOL) but there’s nothing sane about having hundreds of fragrances in your wardrobe either. My youngest daughter’s name is Eva which incidentally is the name of the only Santa Maria Novella fragrance I bought during my honeymoon in Florence, Italy.

Which fragrance name would you pick, hypothetically?

My next boy will be 'Aventus'

I like 'Daisy' (Mark Jacobs) for a girl or maybe Boadicea!

Coriolan, I think. It makes me think that so many fragrance houses have resorted to putting notes on levels as opposed to real names. Think the likes of Tom Ford Private Blend, Armani Prive etc. Not a proper name shared between half the industry!

Also, I'm just waiting for the inevitable answer of "Secretions Magnifique"... Whoops!

None. Most fragrance names are French followed by Italian and American.

Eva - such a pretty name.

Gabrielle would be in the running. It's also the name of my friend's deceased daughter, so there is that.

Among others, in no particular order: Leonard, Salvador, Giorgio
(just realized to have very sketchy knowledge about fragrances with feminine names and thus unable to think of nor to choose that many)

Jicky came to my mind as well.

I remember reading that Olivia Newton-John named her daughter Chloe after the fragrance, so it's probably not such a batty idea after all.

Antonia, definitely - I think it might actually have been on my list, well before the perfume was created. Two boys, though, so no opportunity to use it. If they had been girls, one might have been Miranda, which I see by googling is a perfume by Fragonard. No perfume yet for Rowena (and my mother was horrified we were contemplating it).

I wanted to call the last pair of gerbils Jicky and Squeaky but was overruled.

That's a lot to live up to: is she very glamorous? I have encountered very plain women called Venetia and Amaryllis.

Mine was Tabacco Toscano, which my wife and I both wear and love

    As for names,

    Jules
    Sage (as in L'Homme Sage)
Jicky, though it feels more like a nickname
    Clair/Claire (Gris Clair)
And I love Jack Hunter's Chene idea.

Not kidding. The equivalent would be "Jimmy" but it sounds nicer in the original language and is also the name of the fragrance.
