Mimosa Pour Moi. What a lovely scent. I am especially surprised by how it did not overpower me in 85 F weather.

The EDT Pre-1989 has a very distinctive mossy dry down which is magical whereas the Cologne Concentree has a spicy aromatic barbershop feel to it all the way to the end. Both are good in their own ways but I prefer the former of the two.

I hope to try the early formulations of Pour Monsieur at some point but there's a good chance that the top notes might have degraded over time.

I recently picked up quite a few designers that I'd sadly overlooked due to, admittedly, snobbishness on my part. In any case, this morning I sprayed both Acqua di Gio Profumo and Prada L'Homme, and both were great. The Profumo surprised me for being as aromatic and woodsy as it is, and the Prada was just my jam from the start to the dry-down. Funny thing is, I'd had a bottle of L'Homme a few years ago, wore it once or twice, and ended up giving it away. Now I'm asking myself, why the hell did I do that? That stuff is great!

Alien Man Fusion. The coffee note smells like coffee beans before you roast them. Green, earthy and still familiar as still coffee. But that's not the star of the show. It's a tad bit generic but this honestly lasted all day on me and got a couple of compliments.

I like this a lot. But I also liked Alien Man as well too.

    Elvis by Elvis Presley (1989)

An interesting spicy chypre kind of thing with tobacco, animalics, amber, and an interesting sort of southern sweet tea vibe in the opening that dries down to something similar to Balenciaga Pour Homme (1990) minus the oud. A bold fragrance with some comfort food aspects to offset it, but also not screaming in sillage.

I’m planning to buy Prada L’Homme soon $59 100ml on maxaroma.com no brainer, remember liking it when I smelled it at Macy’s earlier this year. Acqua Di Gio Profumo I recall liking some after many wears, not sure if I will add it back to the wardrobe though.

Love this juice, as the more pronounced raspberry note make the overall composition much nicer IMO than the modern stuff

I made a trek to the one nearby boutique that carries this house. When I smelled this one, it was instant love and I knew I had to have a bottle. It's a spicy woody-green fragrance, which my mind processes as being much like Fougère Royale minus the lavender. It sits nicely on the skin with gentle but persistent sillage.

American artisan brands deserve a little more love than they get from our community. WTB, the child of perfumer Michael Loring Probst, doesn't charge a heavy entry fee (purchased from a brick and mortar retailer, their 2 oz EDT bottles go for $38, a reasonable price for an artisan frag), and the quality and diversity of the house's offerings is stellar. Only a small portion of them are listed in the Basenotes catalog.

Also nice: WTB's Smoky Fig, but I already have a fig fragrance in my collection.
