    Default Eau Savage vs. Sauvage EDP?

    Hello All,

    I own Dior Sauvage EDT & EDP. They're both okay to me but not a frequent reach. I tend to go to my Silver Mountain Water more often.

    However I've heard that Dior's Eau Sauvage (2012) is good, I've yet to put my nose on it, does it smell like modern day sauvage? Would it be worth the blind-buy or would it be redudant to own?

    It’s darker and heavier heavy on the myrrh and very strong doesn’t resemble the original Eau Sauvage at all. Best to sample, not to say it’s bad or you won’t enjoy it just totally different from the original citrus Eau Sauvage.

    Completely different fragrances. Sauvage EDP would be more of a crowd pleaser while Eau Sauvage will be more of a personal scent. I get more people who don't like the smell of Eau Sauvage, though I do really like it myself.

    The EdT is good, used to be great though when it had oakmoss. The EdP from 2012 is nice, great sillage and duration, but a bit synthetic at times.

    Wait, can you clarify what you're asking, OP? You're talking about multiple different fragrances here.

    Eau Sauvage VS Sauvage EdP = 1966 vs 2018 releases

    Sauvage EdT vs Sauvage EdP = 2015 vs 2018 releases

    Eau Sauvage 2012 = Eau Sauvage Parfum (original)? Does it smell like modern day Sauvage... as in.. Sauvage EdT/EdP or Eau Sauvage latest formulation? I'm not sure which Sauvage you're comparing it to.

    In order of release with these frags, it goes..

    Eau Sauvage 1966 -> Eau Sauvage Parfum 2012 -> Sauvage EdT 2015 -> Sauvage EdP 2018

    Also worth noting there's an Eau Sauvage Parfum 2017 version, and the 2012 version has been discontinued.

    I prefer Sauvage EDP over Eau Sauvage EDT( old and new versions). I prefer Eau Sauvage EDP over all of these.

    I recently purchased the Eau Sauvage Parfum (EDP) 2017 version, which I think is only available in limited places. Someone tipped me off to a seller on ebay. It's a very nice scent. Green and fresh, not too sweet. Good longevity and decent sillage. I'm enjoying it.

    Agree. For me, personally of all releases of both fragrances, Original Eau Sauvage is my preferred although I like all the others - just less.

    Amen. Eau Sauvage Parfum (2012) is the clear favourite for me from these. The 2017 ESP isn't bad, but I prefer the 2012 version which is still available outside of Europe, from what I understand.

    I would like to slap the person that decided it was a good idea to name the modern fragrance after the 60's classic.....

    Interesting anecdote about why Eau Sauvage was so called here. Sauvage by itself just means "wild", of course.
