I'd love to hear what you think of your monster, SixCats! (It was the one animalic scent too monstrous even for animalholic-me.)

    Hi guys,

Oooh, this of course is NOT a "blind buy". I have sampled 50ml Marlou d'ambiguite and IMMEDIATELY fell in love with this "Animalistic" Fragrance and knew right away that it would become a future purchase. I will wear this "Monster" for special occasions. LOVE the Funk!

    SixCats,

Does your town have a Farmers Market? Maybe you can debut it in public in a place that’s al fresco. I want you to enjoy it ASAP and report back on reactions, if any, soon!

Just wondering how Ms. SixCats likes it, as well as the other "monster" scents you're into?

    Hi all,

Thank you for the kind words. OK, while I wouldn't be the least bit afraid to wear this Marlou in public, I think it TOO expensive

(especially for 50ml) to be worn casually. For the most part, this Marlou is for ME to enjoy (and hopefully) Mrs. SixCats! Much to my surprise,

Mrs. SixCats! was NOT offended by the much more "tamed" Marlou L'Animal Sauvage EdP. d'ambiguite on the other Hand is like L'Animal

Sauvage on Steroids! So, it'll be interesting to see how Mrs. SixCats! responds. That being said, I'm sure there will be some "special occasion"

I would/could/might consider wearing d'ambiguite in a public environment. As far as "RANKING THE RANK" of the Fragrances I have

tried/sampled recently, no doubt 50ml Marlou d'ambiguite ranks at the TOP for those lovely "Animalistic" notes.

Mark, I think it difficult as to ranking/order. It really is dependent on ones Nose. For instance, MOST every review of Etat Libre d'Orange

"Secretions Magnifiques" finds it a "DISGUSTING!" Fragrance. When Ol' SixCats! sampled "Secretions Magnifiques" I was soooooo let down

because I was EXPECTING to be smacked on the side of the Head by an olfactory assault. Nope. In my World, "SM" was not only "TAME" but,

smelled quite nice! Even Mrs. SixCats! thought the same. So that being said, please take the following list with a grain of Salt.

    50ml Marlou d'ambiguite
    Etat Libre d'Orange Rien Intense
    Boadicea the Victorious Complex
    Imaginary Authors Bull's Blood
    Rania J. Oud Assam
    Masque Milano Montecristo
    Serge Lutens Musc Koublai Khan
    Diptyque L'Autre
    Papillon Salome
    SMN Acqua di Cuba
    Diptyque Oud Palao EdP
    Mazzolari Lui
    Marlou L'Animal Sauvage
    L'Artisan Dzing!

Congrats on the purchase! Now, your next step for animalic scents is to get your nose on some pure Hindi Oud oils. You wont be disappointed.

    Hi Lost,

Ooooh Lost, I'm waaaaay ahead of you my friend lol. A couple of Months ago,

I purchased (from England) six "Abdul Karim Al Faransi" Attar Oils :

    http://www.alfaransi.com/

    OUD HINDI
    MAKHALLAT DI CORLEONE
    SHEIKH AL FARANSI
    ISTANBUL
    OUD ASSAM
    AMBER ASH SHEIKH

and a seventh Attar Oil "gifted" to me by Al Faransi.

These are VERY nice/high quality Attar Oils especially considering their reasonable price.

In addition, I STILL have/own around twenty Attar Oils sent to me from India (some fifteen years)

ago by a former (wonderful) Basenoter who I sorely miss. As if that's not enough,

I have my own (homemade) Beaver Castrum Tincture that I made eight years ago.

Pretty awsome stuff! Love the Funk!

    Regards,

    SixCats!

    Congrats on the purchase

I really enjoy D'Ambiguite however, I have not been brave enough to wear it in public and recently I was told I could only wear it on an evening if my wife was working nights (she is a midwife) after 'stinking the entire house out'. This is pretty disappointing as the previous occasion I wore it my wife only became exposed after around 3 hours of wearing which by that time had settled the animal down somewhat and she quite liked it - the last time I wore it she experienced a full frontal assault of top notes and it appeared to destroy any chance of wearing it while she was in the house

This is ok with me as I appreciate this particular scent isn't for everyone.

yarn, that's a shame your Wife does not share your love of d'ambiguite. I see no alternative other than divorce (just kidding).

Perhaps the Mrs. will have a change of Heart. Sometimes (as you know) it takes a period of time to grow accustomed to such a unique

Fragrance. Of course, you could always lay the Frankenstein line on the Mrs.

    On second thought, maybe not.
