Default Has Bois Du Portugal recently been Vaulted?

    Hi All,

Just received a 50ml decant of the great BDP and the seller advised me that Creed vaulted/discontinued this fragrance recently.

Does anyone here know also of any merit to this ?

Haven't heard or read anything official but wouldn't be surprised if it were.

There have been rumors of the discontinuation of this and Tabarome, but both are being shown in the new 50/100ml. sizes, so apparently no, Bois du Portugal has not been vaulted.

I'd like Creed to vault, then unvault fragrances -- keep things fluid and fresh

So, for instance, vault BdP and free up Vetiver 48 for six months

Prices have sky rocketed even on eBay, hopefully due to supply issues? If I’m able to come across 4oz bottles at decent prices I’ll buy a bottle or two just in case.

BdP seems to be available at the Creed boutique, Saks, Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf, etc., so I don't see any issues with supply.

Yeah, saying they're vaulted implies a return to market at some point, at least temporarily. And re-releasing legacy scents with a bunch of mumbo jumbo about historical figures would play into their marketing perfectly.

Exactly -- come on Creed, you know blaming IFRA for the withdrawals was never true -- more like 'streamlining' the popular ones only

This was my most recent buy... I wasn't worried about scarcity although the rumors did raise an eyebrow. Moreso, it was one of very few scents that left a strong impression on me when I started taking this hobby seriously a couple of years ago. I do cringe at any discontinuation or reformulation, and not to be that guy, but I've heard this one may have been reformulated for the better.

Could be some merit to this also -
When i had my first 20 ml decant about a year ago BDP didnt seem to perform very well for me, and didnt last long at all - but the scent itself was divine.
The 50ml decant i just received (which i was advised was from a recent batch ) is very strong and performs amazingly!

I had a 5ml decant not long ago - wasnt anything special for me. I much prefer Viking by a mile.

This would be a great approach!!! Some selections like Acier Aluminum, Green Valley, and Vintage Tabarome, I have tried and really liked, but never had a chance to get. Be nice to bring those back, while giving scents like Original Santal or Virgin Island Water a break and removing them for a period of time. Kind of how Serge Lutens rotates certain selections into the Export (rectangular bottles) line.

I read here that after selling out of the back door for decades, Creed is taking steps to tighten discount distribution worldwide. It sounds like Creed realized their luxe brand image had been sinking and steps are being taken to right the ship.

I can see that. I know some brands like Chanel are very strict with distribution and new returns along with other aspects of inventory management, so that explains why the $120 bottles of 4 oz. Creeds have been gone.

I remember a friend of mine got a 4 oz. bottle of GIT off of eBay back around 2007 for a winning auction bid of around $75 dollars with shipping. And it was legit, not a counterfeit. Maybe just a store return or close-out......

Have you smelled Royal Oud, this defines quality and is one of Creed’s best fragrance might restore your faith.

I would hate to see BdP go away. I need to deepen my stock as I only have a 30 ml and it's not long for this world.

I must note that while I am a fan of several of their perfumes, by nearly any measure the brand is overpriced — unlike CHANEL, which provides a fair value for the asking prices — so I don't mind paying retail for Antaeus, etc.

No way am I paying $400 for a full bottle of Green Irish Tweed (now just 100 ml, too boot!).

There is definitely some issue with BdP availability. I've waiting for a flacon (paid for) since January to no avail. While spray bottles may be available, flacons are completely gone worldwide as far as I can see - not even Creed have them!

Acier Aluminium is still pretty available in flacon (250ml) format in France - I just got one recently.
