    Default Reader Awards 2017?

Just browsing through previous years' Basenotes Reader Awards and wondering why that didn't occur this year? Such a fun feature....

There was another thread about this here, but still no answer...

This is the second year in a row I haven't done the awards.

It's a shame as I enjoy them and I think it's a fun idea, but the last time I did it we had about 70-80 people fill in the form, despite it being advertised on the front page, and the forums, and on the Basenotes social media accounts.

With such a small amount of entrants, it's really difficult to pick finalists and winners in some categories, and because of the lack of interest, I decided it wasn't worth me putting the time in, if so few people were interested.

Maybe they will come back in a different form in the future.

    Thanks for the update, Grant!

l didn't realise that the level of participation was so low.

Hasn't always been. At its peak we had about 5,000 entrants. I know site traffic has dropped since then, but not by that much

Yes, thanks for the update. That's a shame about the low participation. Wonder why...? Maybe next year we should try a virtual Oscar Party...but for perfume and no ballots. An awards free for all!
