Default Tom Fords Italian Cypress Longevity?

I love this fragrance. I find it an extremely sophisticated and manly scent. It goes on like an 80's powerhouse all be it a bit more refined than some but after 30 minutes I can barely smell it.

My question is, is it just me or do others have the same problem? Perhaps it's my nose? It just doesn't start off like a fragrance that will die to death anytime soon!

I think it’s just one you have problems smelling. It’s very strong and extremely long lasting.

This is my experience of this as well. Unless it's been reformulated due to new IFRA guidelines then I would say it's your nose been overwhelmed. This is quite common on new fragrances that we buy and are adjusting to the fragrance. I myself quite a few times have purchased a new fragrance and thought it was a poor performer when in fact it was my nose.

Yes...I think you are probably right. As I mentioned earlier I would find it hard to believe that a fragrance that goes on that strong could do a disappearing act so soon. Such a shame for me because it is a fragrance that I love the smell of and would enjoying smelling all day.

Same case here, learn to understand that it's just my noise in 90% of the time

I've only been trying Tom Ford Fragrances since 2017 so I'm VERY late to the party but this is the only thing I've experienced with Tom Ford scents.

I've tried Tobacco Vanille, Oud Wood, Noir de Noir, Venetian Bergamot, and FFabulous. They are exquisite, beautifully blended, develop amazing, annnnnnnd completely disappear from my nose in 90minutes or less.

I suppose this is a blessing in disguise because this house makes so many great scents I would otherwise have to buy if I thought they could even last the trip to my office.

It's just your nose being fatigued other people can still smell it

Olfactory fatigue is a usual suspect. Try avoiding sprays to the neck as the proximity to your nose will turn your nose off quickly to enable it to scan for other more potentially dangerous scents.

My experience is different, as it goes away after 2 hours 30 minutes. Actually it does sort of hang in there after that, but I found sillage to be thin on this one, unless one oversprays. And it is great for the time it is easily discernible - the top and the mid section where it can be compared to some high quality version of some of the aromatic woody masculines of the 80s. Unfortunately I find the base to be relatively generic and insubstantial.

The times I've tried it I didn't have any longevity issues.

There's no reason you shouldn't get vintage Halston Z14. There have been countless comparisons between the two, and if you go on eBay and get the Jeff Gordon packaging you will be getting the original formula with oakmoss. It lasts all day and for about 20 bucks and sometimes even less.
My updated top ten, in no particular order:
    Bentley Intense
    Cosmair Polo Green
    Green Irish Tweed
    Calvin(original blue)
    L'Occitane Eau Des Baux
    Spicebomb/Lomani Body and Soul(tie)
    Hanae Mori HiM EDP
    Pure Havane
    Dunhill Icon
    Halston Man Amber

My skin usually eats fragrances but two sprays with IC at 7:00 am and I could still detect it after work at 5:00 pm on the way home.

This one is not a projector by any means, but it does have good longevity.

    +1

My bottle is very potent and I have to be careful to go light with this one or I'll choke myself and everyone else around me out. Lasts 8+ hours for me.
