Default Just for fun--graduation scent help.

Just for fun - would anyone like to help me select a scent for my daughter's college graduation? This is truly a milestone for her--and for me, gulp. My baby is a college grad. I can bring a decant or even a full bottle in my suitcase.

Feu Secret or Ummagumma from what I see in your wardrobe, although I like your Slumberhouse frags, if one of them is good for you in summer weather!

I'd say classic Chanel would do well in such a circumstance, ie Cristalle or Rue Cambon. Elegant, relatively fresh.

    Congratulations!

    From your (very nice!) wardrobe:

Bottega Veneta for her - an understated classic, worthy of a milestone
Bal d'Afrique - perfect if the weather is going to be hot on that day
Un Bois Vanille - the ideal scent for dishing out hugs left right and center

Also, out of curiousity - which one do you prefer? The Bottega Veneta, or Daim Blond?

    I'd agree with this suggestion.

Thank you for the wonderful suggestions. I prefer by a hair Daim Blond. But I think Serge Lutens is my spiritual soul mate.

Sadanne might work. Roses and strawberries. Nastka has taken into account the hug factor. Good point-- I will be giving and receiving many. And dancing at the after party. Working up a sweat. I need something that will hold up. Both Fazzolaris would, I believe. Feu Secret is in the running!

Yes I was thinking Chanel. Chanel fragrances are always "protective" for me. I'm an introvert and Sunday will be filled with PEOPLE time--which is great but I will need sustenance. And Chanel fragrances somehow feel so energizing and supportive. I'm not sure how to explain. Perhaps the oomph of tradition.

Hazel5, you have a wonderful collection! I’d choose 31 rue Cambon or Timbuktu. Both possess an optimistic radiance that seems appropriate for the occasion. The Chanel is classy and refined, whereas the Timbuktu is bohemian chic. Congratulations on your daughter’s milestone; you must be very proud!

My picks are found in my wardrobe, too. Fendi Theorema or Chanel No. 5 Eau Premičre! Great fragrances!

I would suggest 31 Rue Cambon or Timbuktu. If slightly cooler then Vetiver Tonka, Une Bois Vanille or Feminite du Bois.

Congratulations! No. 5 Eau Premiere came to mind immediately, and I was happy to find it in your (delicious!) wardrobe, so that wins my vote. All of the other suggestions above sound excellent, too.

Yes they do, don't they? The weather is supposed to be rainy and mild. So I can get away with almost anything....Eau Premiere is a beaut.

Great suggestions. So far I'm pretty sure I'm bringing 31 Rue Cambon, Timbuktu, Feu Secret, and maybe the oh so huggable Vétiver Tonka. And Eau Premičre!

Girl, I think you need something that smells festive, feels seasonally appropriate and will hopefully not get too smothery if you work up a sweat dancing or running around or whatever. You're also going to be doing a lot of hugging--not sure where that fits in, but it's just a thought. ANYWAY, from your wardrobe I'm kinda feeling the Hiram Green Voyage, because orange blossom is so awesome this time of year. Other stuff that I think would also work would be Angel Muse (which wears surprisingly well in heat, I've found), Bal d'Afrique (just perfect for festivities IMO), Datura Noir (I can't help it--I'm just a white floral gal, especially this time of year), one of those Victoria Minya Hedonists (I like Iris, but I think they're both terrific--and those bottles *sigh*), Organza Indecence, Sadanne (maybe--I find this works better in some situations than others, but it is fun), or--sleeper idea here--that L Dumont Vanille Monoi might be just the thing, especially if you add a dab of Voyage with it (I layer my Tubereuse Indiana over NARS monoi oil in the spring and summer, and it smells like heaven. I never layer, but this one happened by accident and now I can't imagine one without the other).

Congratulations to both you and your daughter! Have fun and keep us posted!
