Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. That's why I can not wear a perfume that bothers me. Perfuming is an instinctive wisdom. And like all art, it requires some knowledge of yourself..."

Congrats Shycat on your milestone! (Sorry, l can't get the *beer* smiley to work)

After a lovely afternoon in the garden, l'm showered & synched in Samsara. Someone already guessed it, so l can come clean now.

This is definitely a new way of describing a fragrance! In retrospect, I believe I've had my skull sandblasted several times over the years. Montale was definitely involved, in some cases. Can't wait to see what you'll come up with in a sample pass!

    Congratulations to Shycat!

Jersey EdT for me today. No clever sync, just plain ol' Jersey. Happy Friday, all!

I have a Jersey sample I've been sitting on that I need to review, and I am a late addition to the Fragonard (Fraggle Rock) sample pass Epapsiou started. I was tempted to start maybe a vintage Avon masculine sample pass once I beef up stock, seeing as Avon's male lines get so little love because nobody really even knows about them, but we'll see!

I reviewed the Mancera Wild Rose Aoud and have a sample of So Blue to also try (from MyTwoScents).

Update: the sandblasting has calmed to a gentle buffing with a shammy but it's still very much there.

I'm glad we were able to snag you for Fragonard! I cut my perfume teeth on Avon as a little girl in the 1970s and I love your Avon idea. Have worn and smelled a LOT of them over the years. I can see their vintage masculines being well received here on BN and definitely encourage you to go for it when able. If you have any questions about starting a pass, feel free to give me a holler!

Jersey is one of my favorites. Maybe not earth shattering but it gets a lot of wear from me. It's just never wrong, for any occasion. Beautiful lavender note and the whole thing just feels comfy, like the perfect t-shirt. I'll be looking out for your thoughts on it!

I'm slow on the up take. I just realized I have to say "Thanks for the congratulations!" to get my 3000th. For the longest I was just thinking huh, I show 2999.

Frapin 1270 today. I'm just not clever enough today to participate in the synch (make an anagram using fragrance +/- house name). Kept playing with Nishane's Wulong Cha to no avail. Oh well. Next week.

    Roses Musk?

This evening is finally cooling off a bit, but it still feels pretty sticky and tropical. I'm outside watching the fireflies, wearing some weather-appropriate Orchid Soleil. I'm not sure about the performance complaints with this one--it's doing its crazy thing pretty well several hours after first application. It does have a sort of "corn chips" accord toward the beginning, but it settles into something that's actually pretty nice. I also think that if it were much stronger, it might be too much of a good thing--headache-inducing instead of just head-turning. Maybe it's not the most sophisticated piece of work, but I'm surprised by how much I'm enjoying it.
