I love the scent of Mugler Cologne and Creed's Original Vetiver. Anything you recommend that smells similar, or that I will like if I like these? More affordable the better.

Comme des GarÁons Vettiveru - less green, but still light and cologney and the QPR is insane on this one.

Where do you buy CDG? I can't find them anywhere online on the usual discounters

I see you are in the...

    Perhaps some place like this?

    https://www.endclothing.com/ca/comme...-2-vet125.html

I don't know how available US sites are to Canadians, but Lucky Scent usually stocks CDG, though it looks like they are out of Vettiveru at the moment.

Sometimes some of the more edgy fashion stores, that already have CDG clothing, have the fragrances as well, that might be a good bet, if you want to sample the range without ordering online.

Jermyn Street by Floris. Itís a little more complex in the opening but shares Original Vetiverís elegant restraint and has a similar lightly soapy musky vetiver as it recedes into the drydown.

I own and love both of those. The only thing I've come across that smelled quite similar was Tom Ford Neroli Portofino and its variations. But I certainly wouldn't categorize them as affordable. 4711 is also supposed to smell like these, but I've never tried it.

4711 is awesome but short-lived. NP has the exact same scent of 4711 but with longer duration. Love both.

I have a decant of Grey Vetiver EDP and respectfully it's nothing like Mugler Cologne or OV. It's ok at best tbh.

The two you named are not vetivers, so I would ignore the vetiver recommendations.
I suggest you try this for another soapy fragrance thats a bit more interesting than the two you named.
    I'll wear it today.

Also try Bond No. 9 Great Jones.

interesting...I have Bond No. 9 Eau de New York which is actually quite similar to Mugler Cologne and OV. Will check these out.

Agreed that many people are just throwing in their favorite vetivers whilst its more the 'feel' of the frags rather than the vetiver note per se the op is after.

Also agree with Diamond that the characteristic in demand is 'lightly soapy musky vetiver as it recedes into the drydown'.

Thinking the two reference scents are hard to top. Having said that, could be worth investigating:
Hermes eau de Gentiane Blanche gives me a similar soft/fresh/soapy-clean (almost milky) feel.

Also perhaps original Prada Infusion d'vetiver (believe it has now been altered though)

The CDG vettiveru suggestion could work as a sharper scent. Maybe some fig scents for a softer/creamier clean green vibe such as Atelier Figuer Ardent

I quite enjoy Figuer Ardent. Hmm I've been hearing about Vettiveru a lot. It actually isn't that expensive either. Going to check out the others.

+1 Vetiver d'Hiver (nťe Vetiver Babylone). Whilst not as soapy as OPs two fragrances, it's a must try if you're after a clean vetiver fragrance. Difference is that it swaps the soap for citrus.
+1 Bergamot 22, for a familiar smooth and soapy feel.
+1 Infusion d'Vetiver, though I must also admit that I didn't try the latest iteration.

    Going for a different angle:
I think, if you like creed original vetiver, you may also like it’s compliment: creed original santal.

Also maybe with similar sweetness:eau de L'occitaine edt and ysl l’homme

Perhaps if you want something with more bite, Guerlain vetiver extreme.

    Penhaligons Castile ($40-50 online)
    Fragrances of Ireland, Patrick ($35-40)

I think there is a HIGH probability you’ll like both

Guerlain Vetiver has been a good Springtime vetiver fragrance for me: I find it's tobacco note very noticeable, so if you like tobacco and vetiver, you'll probably like it.

Tsar is another favorite green fragrance, but I don't really smell the Vetiver: the Pine and Rosemary and Oakmoss and other green notes are much stronger for me.

    I second these two suggestions:

Patrick -- I got it and the soapy note reminds me of Irish Spring soap, only better and more natural -- it's a pleasant "clean green" fragrance (some earthiness in there too).

Tom Ford's Grey Vetiver I don't own, but tried it and like more than most -- going to get a sample of it sometime soon.
