Good for the locals! Of course, I hope this doesn't mean a further weakening of the line. The supposed wisdom in the industry seems to be that Asian noses are delicate and can only appreciate ethereal floral notes (as exemplified by the new batch of Asian-oriented Dior privees).

Very minimalist decor for a very non-minimalist perfume house.

Sorry OP, but Iris Ganache is exclusive to one of the French boutiques only.

That is how Guerlain are doing the limited editions of different ranges of exclusives now. Each boutique will get their exclusive and only there can it be bought. Pain in the ASS! They will not even ship these you or take phone orders you have to into the boutique and buy. I managed to get a decant of the current version as someone on a private UK group got a friend to go into the boutique and get her a bottle which she kindly sold a few decants. Guerlain also only make a litre at a time and then months before the next one is released.

If you join Monsieur Guerlains Facebook group you should be able to find which exclusive is in which boutique.

I haven't made it over yet but looking forward to seeing if any stuff available that wasn't already at the Guerlain Institute here . . . will report back.

I read this thread and immediately thought of you!

Would like to hear your thoughts on Le Frenchy. Apparently it is old wine in new bottle?

I have been a bit out of the loop with recent(ish) releases but I understand Cat is in the new place and she generally gives me a call if something interesting turns up (or keeps one aside!). I'm just about to grab another bottle of Lui, actually, from a 'friends and family' sale. Not full price so happy to have a back-up. It's an unusual one, not often discussed. Dusty nasturtium like carnation that settles into a friendly benzoin(ish) mood. I suspect it will disappear soon - does not seem to have "captured the publics' imagination". Will check out Le Frenchy if it's here, fer sher.

Re: the comment above about 'Asian tastes'. True to an extent, although moreso, I think, for Japan and Korea . . . well, and the mainland, I suppose. That said, Hong Kong is home to a lot of HK Chinese 'repats' who have studied or worked in New York, London, Sydney, Paris etc. so I notice quite a lot of interesting stuff when I'm out - the rose/patch thing (esp. POAL) and also some nice Hermes / Guerlain & Dior Exclusifs (particularly orientals, as it happens) wafting round. MFK, Diptyque, Goutal, Malle are all well represented here, along with all the designer names. I hear a lot more French spoken on the streets (and Mandarin / Putonghua, of course) these days. It's a very different town from when I turned up in the 80s

    Mr reasonable

good to know that, as imagine, Chinese have broad and varied taste. Too bad perfume companies seem to think otherwise.

Wow--I could have sworn that there was a boutique there already--in my mind in the shopping arcade at the Peninsula. I must have imagined it, or it is like Brigadoon. At any rate, good news for the people of Hong Kong!
