Asking about the men's or women's?

Carnation, spices and the smell of ironing 100% cotton. Then it changed...

What brought up this question? Thinking of buying some vintage?

In the 90s it had more clove kick, so certainly worth having. As long as the price is not bad.

Clove, cinnamon, carnation and other on a resinous-woody base.

Monumental. Top shelf stuff. ***** stars.

Vintage Eau de Toilette is one of my favorite versions of Opium. It's not so intensely explosive. The myrrh is a bit more pronounced in the Parfum (which is one of the parts I love) but the intense spiciness mentioned several times in this thread is what really shines - mixed as it is with a whole bunch of aldehydes.

Masterpiece! I recently found an old EDT carded sample from mid-00's laying around, and it's phenomenal. Complex but symphonic. Very "not current perfumery".

I have two bottles of the vintage EDT, amazing fragrance which I prefer on the edp version. The vintage formula is more aromatic and spicy (with a background a la Aramis JHL).
