    Default Spraying decants

Does decanting a fragrance by spraying it alter the longevity or composition of the fragrance?

I'm concerned about my light citrus fragrances whenever I transfer them to another container by spraying.

I wouldn't think so, but if it did, I would think minimally.

Exposure to air reduces the life span of a perfume. But we're talking what happens over decades. If you are using your decant within a few years, there is no problem.

Since we're spraying it, I thought it would ruin the top notes since the top note molecules evaporate first.

But one is spraying it into another bottle, so only a tiny amount evaporates. So this is not a worry.

There's a method of decanting using a syringe.

It's even less of an issue if the decant is done with a funnel or pipette.

Edit : or a syringe lol. Exactly!

As long as the decant container is sealed thoroughly to prevent leakage and air exposure, there shouldn't be an issue. Spraying into a decant container should have no effect at all.
