I prefer it over Nio and Renaissance 1861.

    It's wonderful.

Have you considered Dior eau Sauvage, edt? Blind bought it from Dior.com last month, and am quite impressed with its performance. In addition to IMO being a wonderful summer fragrance, it lasts 15 plus hours on my skin with 3 sprays--one to chest and 2 to the neck when applied after using fragrance free moisturizer. It's light projection also makes it a great choice for summer.

Also, another vote for ADP Essenza. I get great performance from that as well, and it is pleasantly soapy.

I like the Renaissance suggestion. The longevity is truly amazing.

Thanks so much for all the advice, I've done a lot of research and there about 10 of the above that sound good to me which I'll try to seek out samples of.

Do Bond No 9 and Amouage routinely offer samples? It's frustrating that samples are tricky to get hold of in general, great that some sites offer sample packs as more should do this. I feel that stores make samples difficult to get hold of as most people just want a freebie. However, I'd never test a fragrance and buy 1 minute later, so samples are crucial!

You can buy official Bond No. 9 samples on eBay, which I've done, and probably Amouage too. I'm not too sure you'll find any freebies in retail stores. There's always the usual decant sellers like Luckyscent, Decant Shop or maybe someone here on BN.

Two (genuine) sellers I used numerous times to get samples from ...

Based on your post... do try ADP Essenza.

I would like to add one that I just tried yesterday.

    Xerjoff - Pikovaya Dama

The best thing I have tried so far in 2018. Fresh and clean and a bit different than the usual summer fresh ones.
    Current Spring Favorites:

    1. Creed - Spice & Wood
    2. by Kilian - Straight to Heaven
    3. Dior - Vetiver
    4. Clive Christian - 1872 for Men
    5. Tom Ford - Rive d’Ambre
    6. Ermenegildo Zegna - Javanese Patchouli
    7. Les Nez - Turtle Vetiver Back
    8. Tom Ford - Grey Vetiver EDP
    9. Creed - Green Valley
    10. Parfumerie Generale - Grand Siecle Intense 7.1
