If you make it to Brooklyn, check out Twisted Lily. Those guys have good customer service and you can sample like crazy in there.

Osswald's, MiN NY, Aedes, Saks, Bergdorf, Barneys but they will all have retail pricing and excellent variety

The beginning of the high line (elevated park) in nyc is called the meat packing district, which among other fragrance shops has an official boutique for Parfums de Marley and a By Killian perfume boutique, will find no bargains but great service and are generous with samples ..enjoy!

Whenever someone travels, I would generally not recommend looking for bargains, but rather look at places where you can try things you normally wouldn't be able to.

This question goes out to hednic....(Hehehe...I feel like I'm calling in on a radio program! )

I understand you are familiar with NYC.....is there an area where there are shops that specialize in fragrances, and maybe even have a selection of varied scents, even some that fly under the radar?

I will be in NYC soon too. I plan on stopping by Osswald. Any other recommendations (smaller boutiques a plus) would be greatly appreciated!

There is the Wholesale Fragrance District - around 27th to 31st Streets on Broadway and along perpendicular arteries that sell designer scents and you might find some hard to find surprises. They're small shops, mostly cash only although there might be a few that take credit cards. They deal with volume buyers and will almost always ask,"How many do you want?'" when you spot something you are interested in. Some can be pushy, and if you say right off "I'm just looking", most will leave you alone to browse. It helps to know a few words in Punjabi or Kashmiri as most merchants hail from that area. You can drive a hard bargain with some. Others won't give you the time of day.
