Purchased this when it was only available at Harrods years back and do like it a lot, but never felt it ever was or would have cause to be hyped.

If it is, I'll get off at the next stop.

    Yuck

Nope - I don't see that hype train going anywhere myself.

But Fragrantica seems to show it is well-liked. But the train will not be stopping here.

It's actually one of their more original scents. Nothing in particular came to mind when I wore it, though in some ways it reminded me of Rasasi Tobacco Blaze (definitely no clone attempt though, or even that similar).

As usual for PdM, it is inspired by Herod. Like a mix Herod+Oajan.

    Not a fan at all.

Inspired by how well certain aromachemicals sell.

Two YouTube reviewers have already mentioned it and I assume will talk it up in the fall. I'm sure the golden child from Germany will have a say as well after he does his push ups and drinks his green tea.

Not a fan personally. I sampled it earlier this year and thought it was just OK. Im not quite sure where all the hype is coming from on this one.

We talking about Percival here? Seems to be some confusion in the title/replies.

If it's Percival, I stumbled on it at Nordstrom over the weekend, they had their sample bottle out and had pre sprayed strips as well. I liked it a lot on the strip, but they made me a sample and I gave it a six hour wearing yesterday and found it to be just OK. I will give it another couple tries, but it was a let down after an initial positive thought.

I really, really like Layton and Herod. I like Pegasus and Godolphin. Everything else I've sampled from the house has been somewhere between fairly decent and meh, but there's a lot I haven't gotten my nose on. Percival seems to fall into the decent/meh category, but maybe I'll come around to it as I wear it more. I thought Viking was just OK the first time I wore it, and now it's one of my favorites.

The thread was originally about Carlisle. The OP has now turned to Percival.

Tried Percival all day yesterday and today, and I’m basically getting CDG Wonderwood, which I like but already have.

Which is making things kind of confusing. He should have just started a different thread.
