Default Club design by The Zoo

So, another niche house I haven’t heard about until now after reading the 2018 version of Turin’s The Guide.
This one gets 5 stars. Anybody tried it?

    Is there a website?

Who's "joe" and what's the 2018 version of the guide? I'm not being sarcastic, I just don't understand what you meant. Is there a new version of the The Guide that's out now?

As for the fragrance, I've never heard of it. The note pyramid looks interesting.

This is Christophe Laudamiel's house. They get some talk on Instagram.

Club Design won an Art and Olfaction award this year.

Meant to say “now” not “joe”’and yes there is a new version of the guide out. Check the general thread.

I read the Guide and promptly ordered a bottle of Club Design last week because I very rarely disagree with Lucas five star frags. My payment went through but I have yet to receive a single email confirming my order has been received or processed. Absolutely nothing. Ive sent emails to the address they list on their site and got no reply. Please be careful before you buy from their official online store....

To clarify its now 7 days since I paid for my perfume and have not heard from their site at all.

mms, very strange, I ordered samples of the zoo line at:
    https://www.thezoo.nyc/
and had no problems at all. They arrived very fast. Maybe they are on vacation?

For those who don't want to buy blindly, they sell sample sets of the whole line, which I think is worth smelling. We have a thread on the other perfumes in the line at

This is NOT a safe blind buy - get the generous sample sets instead.

I rarely disagree with Luca's reviews either, but on this one I do. It's EXTREMELY strong, and although in the same vein as Patchouli 24 by Le Labo, is much less refined and much (much!) harder to wear. It would make an excellent room spray or candle, but after spraying it on my wrist once, I will never do it again.

Note that (for some strange reason), the sample set also includes Scent Tattoo - which is identical.

Another warning - when I received my samples, the first few sprays were simply water. The samples need to be shaken before use.

ppppppps - I also disliked the rest of the samples. They are oversaturated, unwearable, and what I would consider "art", in the broad sense. They evoke a strong reaction, but not always good.

Mine went quiet for a short while and then it turned up, apparently sent from Germany which I thought was a little odd

Interesting that you mention P24, as this is the scent which I’m comparing CD to.
You’re right, P24 is definitely the superior and more refined scent, but I definitely this CD is wearable once it settles.
You are right though, the opening is STRONG, it does come off as quite bitter and brash even (although still very smooth).
Smells like something you’d wear to a rave haha

So Club Design arrived finally today. Initial thoughts: I'm very pleased, it smells like I imagined it might, but of course its so much else too. There's a very industrial and "manufactured" smell to it that I love, its very modern but luxurious at the same time. A warm, dusty pollen like effect is very noticeable. Shrink-wrapped leather and suede. Honeyed, grapefruit and currant notes. Brand new, off-the-assembly line rubber. I would not compare this to P24 at all, and I own and love P24. This is much lighter and airier, more urban and modern. So far I'm very very pleased.
