Default Question on Giorgio Beverly Hills for Men

There's an old (I think) bottle sitting in it's original box at a local thrift shop.

I opened it up and really liked the scent, but didn't pull the trigger. I'm considering going back.

The weird thing about it was that the juice was a dark amber color. All the photos I've seen of the
cologne show it to be a light green. Was this cologne a different color at one time, or has maybe
it changed in the bottle? As I said, the scent seemed fine to me.

New to GBH Men myself - just got my first bottle last week, & I am loving it. In researching this fragrance prior to purchase, I've noted several reviewers stating that there is indeed a difference between the green & yellowish-green juices - the yellowish-green purported to be "smoother" & have more depth. As an owner of what I presume to be the green juice.. there's nothing "rough" about this to my nose, & I can hardly imagine this being any better than it already is. So I say as long as it's in line with the standard retail price of brand new bottle (~$18) & since you already know you like the scent... GO FOR IT, because the yellowish-green variety may very well be rare stuff these days..

It is normal for it to change to a darker color as it ages. Kafkaesque made a review recently and the liquid in her bottle was amber from age.

As long as the bottle was kept out of direct sunlight and still smells nice, go for it.

All the newer/current/reformulated juice is pale green. Originally the juice had a golden color, so the darker ambery color fits the bill. You really need to go back and pull that trigger. Just sayin'.

It's discoloration from age. I have 2 vintage bottles of this. One is a dark brown and the other is a very similar shade of green to the current EA formula although it obviously smells better than the EA version. My brown looking bottle is still beastly, but I detect diminished top notes and a bit of a stinging alcohol smell when you first spray. My green vintage bottle doesn't have those issues. They're both the same after 10 minutes.

Yes, I went back today and pulled the trigger. Smells fantastic and looks really pretty too..

Not a bad vintage week overall (the Avon Öland cologne in the car was a gift a few months back)

Nice haul! That color looks fine to me. I have never seen fragrances in any of the thrift stores I go to--I will have to keep my eyes peeled.

About 3 hours in I'm totally getting that British Sterling vibe you mentioned in your GBH review.

I just picked up this nice set. I should have it by Thursday. I already own one nice vintage bottle.

It doesn't appear that my bottle is as vintage as I thought. Even though the juice is clearly NOT green like current versions, the box indicates that it is a post-2000 release due to the specific wording (per the article below, this box should contain a bottle with green liquid). I'm guessing that the particular ingredients of this fragrance causes the color to change to amber over time. I have no idea how long it would take to change, but this could be anywhere in the range of 5 to 15 years old. It smells fantastic to me, and that's what counts.

I'm not sure what it is either, just gives me that vibe after the middle phase. It's like British Sterling + Givenchy Gentlemen

This is what I have. It seem that box should have a bottle with green juice in it. I have no idea how long it takes to turn if indeed that is what happens. Maybe someone put an older bottle in the box.

Anyway....if it smells great to you that's all that matters . They all smell great to me.
