In my experience, from having had a sample or two of this, I think it is brilliant. Maximum rating. To me it's an oak moss fragrance, which I love, with a little kick. I'm somewhat indifferent about the little kick. It's a sort of herbal flourish on top of the oak moss. I stocked up on Chanel Pour Monsieur and Monsieur de Givenchy for my oak moss fix, but Gucci Pour Homme is pretty much on par with those, for my tastes.

Any comments on the two different bottles? One has alcohol content at the bottom. I should probably check ROTLS.

    Thanks for the information.

I remember well my first trip to Gucci as a (precocious) kid in the late 1970s--just when they launched this. The store smelled amazing and it wasn't just their luxury leather goods--it was the smell of this fragrance (at least in the men's department--I don't think I ever drifted into the woman's department). The smell of luxury in a bottle.

The original 1976 Gucci Pour Homme is by far my favorite of all the versions. To me, it's truly a timeless, classic, and classy masculine fragrance. I wore it yesterday as a matter of fact.

I was lucky enough to find a 4.2 oz splash bottle of vintage GPH on eBay that was unused and still had the plastic stopper in it.

I was amazed when I removed that stopper and made myself a small decant. Really lovely stuff and totally versatile for any time of year or occasion.

Was given a large bottle of this as a gift from a friend in the late 70s which I still have.

Great comments! I'm sold. I found some good information on ROTLS as far as what to look for concerning packaging and such.

Derby’s bolder, greener cousin sharing the common natural sandalwood in the base. Drydown is wonderful but the journey to get there is a little rough.

Rough? It seems that the development of this fragrance would actually be nice just from looking at the notes. We shall see!

I just received these today . I just sprayed a little on paper tonight and give it a full wearing tomorrow.

It smells wonderful so far. Wow....spicy, aromatic leather. The florals come through very nicely. Very nice!

So....the two partial bottles in the photo above are different from the single bottle in the other photo. I purchased them all.

The single bottle is a little squared off while the others are more rounded. The single bottle also has "90%" added to the text.

I believe they are both from the same era. I'm not saying it makes any difference....just mentioning it .
