Default A strifeknot appreciation thread :)

I didn’t know where to put this so here it is. I just wanted to take a minute and thank our fellow basenotes member for all that he does. He hunts down rare perfumes and splits them so we can get a chance to try them. He doesn’t make money off it and I know that a lot of time and care go into it. So thank you for all you do for us, I really appreciate you! If anybody wants to show some appreciation reply on this thread ...

Donald is the greatest with so many fragrance choices to try. He is the big reason I have broadened my horizons to Ajeer Le Dore and Auphorie amongst others. Seems like he is always around giving suggestions and pertinent information on this board. Easy to deal with and very fast shipments make the transactions effortless and fast. He has a niche utopia with popular and lesser known enteries. I for one greatly appreciate his efforts and resources.
    Three cheers!

I appreciate my friend Blindsbuy. If it weren't for this guy, I would have missed out on some great fragrances.

I've never got a split from strifeknot but I was doing splits on Basenotes a long time ago. I only did a few at a time. It is a lot of work. He definitely deserves a lot of credit for all the splits he does.

Great thread! Thanks to strifeknot, many of us get to enjoy some of the rarest and priciest fragrance gems at less exorbitant rates.

I bought a lot of my decanting supplies from him over the years, a very wonderful BNer to have in this community.

BIG THUMB'S UP to all that Donald offers & does. I'm somewhat new to the decant world & WOW, how much better my fragrance experience is having Donald & all his offerings for me to try. So many blindbuys just because he's got them, no one else does & for the price of a small decant they are so worth trying. I've even asked him if he's planning on getting a few things not listed & within days...bam, he's picked them up. "Simply The Best."

I, too, am thoroughly grateful to Donald for his excellent splits. I prefer owning small quantities of scents rather than full bottles that I'll never use up, and his decants give me the opportunity to do so. I can imagine that quite a lot of work and administration go into running a split operation as smoothly as he does!

Oh no. Donald has been great giving insight and helping us all sample many great fragrances which some hit the mark and perhaps some that don't for a reasonable cash outlay. I hope this is just a temporary sabbatical.

It would be a much deserved sabbatical. Hope it is that.

That'd be a huge loss for this community. Hopefully it's just something temporary.

    +1.

What I find odd is his splits thread’s gone too! I just received a set of orders from him just a couple of days ago. I wonder what actually happened...

I think some technical snafu. It should be back soon.

Yes, it was a mistake that occurred while deleting/refreshing his splits thread, which I can imagine might be quite the administrative undertaking. He'll be back!

Yeah, weird forum database gremlins, I'm sure. He'd requested a thread refresh to allow editing the thread title, as that apparently locks up for editing every few years. In the process of cloning the thread, his account was "banned" - and his historical posts won't appear on his profile. Fingers crossed that everything is easily recoverable!

I believe I fixed it now, please let me know if you still see him as banned. There was a technical glitch this morning that seems to have caused him to be inadvertently banned, which he most definitely is not.

Thanks for the concern, guys. You're all wonderful.

I don't know how the accidental ban happened, but it's fixed now. Will repost the fun thread later.

Edit: Not entirely fixed. All of my posts from the last year are gone. I don't know if they can be salvaged.

Appreciate him muchly! Strifeknot is great. Gets the top stuff for everyone.
