Thread: Labdanum

    Default Labdanum

So I'm loving labdanum but I'm finding it very earthy, it's a bit too dry and I'm trying to warm it up - so far I've found raspberry ketones, velvione and patchouli blend very nicely with it. And of course vanilla blends with it because it blends with everything.

    Any other suggestions?

Patchouli and musks are standard mixing for Labdanum.... but I have never mixed Raspberry with it.... you have just given me a great idea Dadeo... thank you.

There are a million suggestions... Labdanum is one of those very basic perfume materials... it works with so much. I would just encourage experimentation.

Glad I could inspire - that's the reason I love this place so much, it really sparks the imagination. Definitely give the raspberry ketones a try, when combined with labdanum it gives off a hint of creed Santal or Mont Blanc individual.

I like the fruity aspects of labdanum.
Try mixing labdanum with: vanillin, blood orange, cassifix and other cassis/plum materials...cinammon type materials, anise materials, rose absolute and fruity type synthetic materials...peach, appricot etc.

You will come up with a jammy/Oriental attar type base. Of course, raspberry keytones is great with labdanum!

A very good source for inspiration is always the 'Potential Blenders section' of a material at TGSC.
For Labdanum, scroll down on this page to the 'Blenders': http://www.thegoodscentscompany.com/data/es1026951.html

    Happy perfuming.
