Default Upcoming film on Colette: A perfume scene

A new film about the author Colette has a scene with a perfume. You can see it at 00:55 in the trailer.

BTW, HdP has a scent called 1873 Colette. Nice, but I much prefer 1804 George Sand and 1876 Mata Hari.

I don't know if this was inspired by the author:

Colette played by the scrawny Keira Knightley. I would have cast Marion Cotillard, but no one asked me.

I love Tocca Colette. One of my fave niche feminines - very easy wear for a guy. I have come very close to buying a full bottle several times.

Looks like a great film. Narrative control never ends. But most oddly, this film will contradict its own immediate utilization for narrative reassertion by being too good for its own sake, particularly for the right audience. Most ironic. Colette would love that.

Recent historical dramas in the anglosphere are really quite good. Poldark playing on TV right now!

Thank you for posting. For some reason, always associated Colette with the golden age of some of the most classic Guerlain.Lubin and Roger & Gallet creation, plus also the first batches/bottles of No.5 in her later life - even though having unfortunately no historical facts, evidence and info to demonstrate this, for some reason both her literary works and the film adaptations of it exude an atmosphere, a sensation, a feeling, a mood, even a lifestyle consistent with the aforementioned scents

She's competent, but too pouty, sullen, self-aware and infuriatingly slappable.

She's an odd choice for Colette.

    LOL!

I have to agree. Cotillard seems more overall "Colette", but Knightley always pulls through with one or two scenes that she just nails, and combined with her baseline good looks (measured on some spreadsheet, no doubt), we get Knightley.

Still, I enjoyed the preview, so it looks competent, as you say.

Cotillard is awesome. Her portrayal of ever-so-slightly fake believability in Allied was amazing, although much credit for direction and editing there. A haunting performance.
