Default Fragrances that go well with cigar and cognac?

    Hi everyone,
I'm a big fan of cigars and cognac, they just go so well together. I tend to enjoy them in my relax time. I want to know if there is any fragrance that will add to the experience. Should 'rum' note be good in this situation? I'm considering Jazz Club by Maison Margiela, Bentley Intense or something like that, maybe even Creed Virgin Island Water.
What are your opinions on this? Please let me know. Thanks.

Atelier Cologne may seem an unlikely brand but Tobacco Nuit would really work.

Also the o.g Michael by Michael Korrs (rectangle, marble cap) although all the different vintages and reformulations get confusing.

Assuming also vintage Escada pour Homme, Zino Davidoff, most masculine and unisex EDPs by Lubin, several fragrances by Lutens focusing on more or less comparable notes along the lines of Chergui and/or Chypre Rouge, Aramis Havana, Siwa by Memo Paris, most likely among quite a few others

Hi! How nice to see a fellow cigar lover. I’m enjoying a couple a week and I’m usually pairing them with rum, whisky or stouts but even cognac from time to time.

But to the subject. It is interesting to match the fragrance and I have done it with tobacco scents like Pure Havane, Herod, CK One Shock but even boozy ones like Pure Malt. I enjoy thicker scents but not necessarily tobacco/liqour. Like orientals or spicy scents. I intend to try my sample of Jazz Club for the first time tonight so maybe I found a reason to enjoy a cigar tonight as well.

So far I have seen suggested fragrances have notes that are either sweet or woody. As vintage perfumes are not really options (according to my dreadful experiences with eBay perfumes), I want to find current ones. I will go to Mecca tomorrow to try some Serge Lutens and Maison Margiela to see how they smell and maybe take one or two to try with cigar and cognac.

Sorry that I didn't include a 'thank you' in the last post because I thought it signals the end of the thread (want to see more of the suggestions, really).
However, it was rude of me. So, thank you for all your suggestions, cheers!

Give Apple Brandy (By Kilian) a try if it's stocked at Mecca. It opens with a blast of booze (it's literally like sniffing brandy up close in a glass), and then the apple and wood. Very nice. I can't think of any other occasion to wear this.

    Anything with heavy patchouli.

Try Guerlain Heritage, Roja Parfums Danger Pour Homme, Frédéric Malle Monsieur, HdP Noir Patchouli, Santal Maria Novella Patchouli.

Really? Patchouli is kind of unexpected. I never really like any patchouli to be honest.
Might give it a try to see. Thank you.

Apple Brandy (smells exactly like 20 year old Pappy Van Winkle)
Speakeasy (probably exactly what your after. Just add a lounge singer and a piano. I love this one)
Byerley (Vetiver, Cedar, Sadalwood, almost smells like and empty bourbon barrel that you can still barely detect hints of whisky under the charred heavy wood)
Baraonda (great woody/ boozy vibe )

Cool Water is a remake of a fougere that seems to fit in here. would add to the smell of the cognac and tobacco.
