Azzaro Pour Homme for me, too. My real dumb reach is whatever is in my gym bag/locker as most days that is where I shower/shave/dress in the morning. In that case, Icon is always an easy reach.

I never recommend blind buys... but... it's easy to find 100ml testers of Castile on ebay for around $40, which drops down to $34 when they run one of their 15% off sales. which they've done a few times this year. Didn't they run a 20% off sale, or maybe even 25%? I bought a backup bottle for around $32. It's worth mentioning that all three times I bought a Penhaligon's tester, I got a bottle and a cap wrapped the exact same way in bubble wrap, so I have to assume that's how Penhaligon's sends out testers - in other words, it looks like they usually come with caps.

Then again, you can buy a sample on Luckyscent for $4 in order to find out whether or not you'd like it.

Basically, imagine taking a knife to a really rich bar of soap & whittling off a pile of soap slices. Run your fingers through the dry slices of soap. That's what Castile smells like. I think it's awesome... but I'm a big fan of soapy scents.

This past season I would say Viking, VIW and Guerlain Vetiver. As Shiny Beast intimated above, Fd’A is a great dumb reach.

I've had good experiences with Penhaligon's testers as well. In fact I never noticed a difference between a tester bottle and a retail except for the fact a retail comes with a box. They're definitely a great deal.

I'm kind of curious to try Castile as well. I see you recommend it often and it sounds like something that would be perfect for work on a crisp fall morning. By the way, have you tried 1870? It's also very good, and if you're a fan of Gucci Pour Homme II (which I seem to remember you being), then you'd probably like this one a lot.

I was wondering how the new Tom Ford would turn out...that's good to hear! Currently I'm using Pour Monsieur and Viking as my sort of go-to fougeres/traditional colognes but it's always good to have other options on deck. Do you think the Tom Ford would be redundant if I'm already using these two?

Indeed. It's really nice. One of my go-to fall staples. I'm gonna give the new flaker (Eau Intense Vetiver) a shot too. It sounds like a version of TdH that's just as easy to wear.

To answer the original question, I'd say that overall Carven L'Eau Intense has been my go-to dumb reach for the past year.

Curve and Cool Water are probably my favorite dumb-reaches. I also have a knock off Polo Red that I got for 3.50 at big lots in my locker.

Versace man eau fraiche is an easy to wear scent that's light and non-offensive yet still love to get whiffs of. Aventus ofc can be worn anytime, anywhere and fit in just perfect but for me isn't as fun to smell on myself. And L'eu D'issey for most weather occasions, without putting any consideration into it.
Peace and love don't come from without, they come from within.

Looks like my dumb reach is turning out to be the most common dumb reach, Creed Original Vetiver. It’s really such an easy wear for work. Just the right sillage for small meetings and such. And reasonable longevity.
