The bottle has a rather art deco appearance

A question that should be asked is: has the fragrance spoiled after 90+ plus years.

I agree - that's an expensive risk to take on juice that might have turned.

I smelled this fragrance once. Instantly fell in love with it. But that was the 're-issued' juice, not vintage like this one.

I rather enjoyed the sample I tried, but not that much

Since it's unsealed, I'd be especially wary. (But I'd love to get a sniff, regardless!)

Mike, did it smell anything like Onda? (People keep claiming a strong resemblance.)

I got a supposedly vintage sample from The Perfumed Court once and it smelled mainly of maple syrup and dirt.

I'd have serious doubts even paying the opening price. The fragrance is 90+ years old. The seal is broken (obviously). The top notes would have vanished by now. Maybe more than that.

Here's another Guerlain rarity where they aren't even guaranteeing the contents -

Djedi was released in 1926, but that doesn't mean that this particular bottle dates to 1926. More like the 1960s, I'd have said. There's a guide to dating the stickers somewhere ...

Wow. Over $600 just for the bottle? (Since the seller has no idea what fume is even in there?)

I guess the Lalique collectors will be after it. It's only 4" tall. $150 per inch.

If anyone happens to be in town, the Champs Elysées flagship Guerlain store keeps a batch (or more?) of older fragrances including Djedi. If you ask nicely, you'll be handed a mouliette dipped in the fragrance to take home. I reckon that that would be the closest you'd get to a good, unspoilt take on the original. I was upstairs when I asked for it. It's quite the opportunity

    No I didn't like Onda.

Djedi is VERY vetiver prominent, to my nose.

It closed at $876.99 (why do people bid in prices that reflect downmarket clothes shopping. $ .99??)

This could easily be a fake - always (always!) check toolhaus.org before bidding on anything.

I think I will stick with Sultan Pasha’s version of Djedi. Beautiful and affordable.
