Default I finished a bottle of Vintage Egoiste

I have logged 87 wearings of Egoiste in the SOTD feature, mostly from the now-empty 75-ml bottle pictured. I have decanted a few samples for swaps from this bottle as well. It would have made it to over 100 wearings otherwise. I'm moving on to my 250-ml splash.

Also pictured is the travel spray I decant into with a pipette to apply it.

Congrats, Bavard! Egoiste is on my to-buy list.

Any idea of the age of your 250ml, Bavard?

What a wonderful scent! Enjoy your next bottle.

The king is dead — long live the new king! (now available in the jumbo Costco size <harhar>).

    Related question:

I have two 75 cc splashes of Ego´ste but they are both printed stickers, whereas yours has paint on glass. Does anyone reading know which style came first, or did they mix label method for a while (I never assume anything happens in one go anymore.)

Sticker labels are mysterious. Why did they ever happen? But as a rule, sticker labels indicate top shelf vintage Chanel, in my experience.

I have a personal cap around $1.xxUSD/cc for smaller bottles but with a biggun I discount that down since economies of scale, & c. and you are buying into more risk if it turns out to be imperfect jus. (Where "1.xxUSD/cc" is a number only I know and only I can decide in the moment <wink>)

How does the big splash bottle smell in comparison to the smaller one you just finished? To me, Egoiste is the perfect scent. I will never be without it.

They're either the same, or the smaller bottle was just slightly better with more character in the opening.

How do you spot vintage from reformulation? I remember smelling one in a store close to me and it smelled great, but I didn't buy one because I might have smelled the vintage.

Any way to visually spot it by box/bottle?

When "Eau de Toilette" is printed above Chanel, it's vintage. Later bottles are also good.

I love Egoiste! Chanel Antaeus and Egoiste are the two perfumes that really sucked me into hunting and trying other vintage fragrances. If there was a Fragrance Hall of Fame they would be front and center IMO! I have learned so much and cant wait to try many more thanks to all of you who share your knowledge and experiences!
