    Default Cookie mania

Why is Basenotes repeatedly asking for cookie consent? And why do I have to sign in every time?

Basenotes doesn't automatically log me out. I don't know why that would be happening to you. Basenotes has never asked me for cookie consent.

It could be a browser issue. Though I haven't been asked repeatedly about cookies here, I have run into that problem on a few other sites. So who knows..

Your browser is probably configured to erase your history every time you shut it down, so cookies aren't being retained.
