    Bentley Absolute

I only know the Bulgari Man in Black though, not the Orient version. I don't imagine it's appreciably different, just spicier. Just not a fan of that genre of synthetic spicy woodsy stuff. (Tobacco Vanille at the higher price end, Spicebomb, etc in the same ballpark.)

Bentley Absolute is much drier, more monochromatic. It's also a tad synthetic, sort of a stripped-down version of Gucci pour Homme to the bare essentials, with a bit of synthetic oud thrown in.

Of the two, I imagine the Bulgari is more of a crowd pleaser than the Bentley, but if you really wanted to go down that route Spicebomb or something even better, like Eau des Baux would be a better option.

I only own the Bvlgari man in black as well. The scent is a nice spice oriental and the projection is a bit weird for me: after twenty mins or so I cant really smell it unless I place my nose on my skin. So I would think it is a skin scent, but my wife who was in the other room was complaining that I was wearing obsession. She smelled it across the hallway even though I didnt go in there or see her earlier. So it does project somehow. And I only wore about three sprays earlier before I went out for a walk.
And that projection lasts , even though I cannot smell it, according to her, even hours later.
I believe Orient is the same.

I have both and I can tell you that Black Orient's performance is nuclear comparing to Bentley Absolute. Bentley has a very, very soft projection. You really need to overspray it and it's still soft. Two people that I sold samples to, also confirmed it.

Black Orient is much stronger. But in the scent department, I like Bentley more as it's more refined and more mature. It really smells classy. Absolute is not hard to wear at all and I've gotten compliments wearing it. For me it's one of the dumb reach fragrances.

Black Orient would better suit someone younger. It has a designer vibe but it's not generic nor cheap.

I haven't tried the Bvlgari, but Bentley Absolute is very underwhelming.

I can't remember much from Black Orient, other than not liking it after 5 minutes. It had a screechy synthetic wood or cedar accord that was overbearing to me. I thought the opening was intriguing, but not very wearable.

Never tried the Bentley, but it's on my test list. Is it similar to Black Orient?

That's exactly how I would describe the opening. Though I think it would suit someone outgoing.
Not sure about the screechy aspect you mention, I'd have to remind myself.

I never thought about these two being similar but I guess you wold be able to find some distant similarity if you start disecting.
But overall, I wouldn't say they're similar. They're for different occassion and different audience.
