Default Where can I find good sandalwood oil?

Are there “artisanal” sandalwood fragrance brand focus on natural Sandalwood, like the numerous Oud oil/attar brands?
The French have a phrase for it. The bastards have a phrase for everything.

Try asking in the DIY Perfume section of the forum, I bet a few who post there will know.

I'd second both of the above as well. Rising Phoenix has a rotating cast of varied and quite fairly priced sandal oils (you can buy wood too, if interested in burning). I love that they sell 1g portions. His 2016 Resinous Mysore is a good place to start, it's a middle of the road classic Mysore profile that is quite affordable. No, you don't get the depth of something properly aged for 40 years, but then again not everything ages well either. It's excellent for a recent Indian Santalum album distillation, I've gone through about 5g of it.

Between Kota Kupang and Kopandai Flores, I'd suggest the former. KF has an unusual (but potentially attractive, to the right person) mineralic/earthy quality that I've never smelled in S. album before. It reminds me of the 'jungle' aspect of Maroke ouds.

I'll add a few other (RP is on Etsy) Etsy seller's too - AgarwoodAssam, La Maison Khenata, and RoyalBengalOuds. Not all of them always keep sandal oil in stock, but they're reputable vendors I can personally vouch for.

I'd have mentioned Ensar Oud too, but they stopped selling all of the sandal oil that I liked, and what's left is probably too pricey (and musky/spicy) of something place to start.

Edenbotanicals.com, Perfumersupplyhouse.com and Whitelotusaromatics.com are US sources highly respected in the DIY section.
