Thread: Midnight oud??

    Default Midnight oud??

I've recently acquired a decant of Midnight oud by Ard Al Zaafaran(?) Never really heard of this house. Nevertheless, it is said to be an Amouage Interlude clone. Now I really like the midnight oud, also was planning on getting the Interlude. Need opinion from someone who has tried both. Is it really quite similar?

I have both in my collection and i tell you Midnight Oud is a very good clone of Interlude Man. Tho you can smell the difference between quality of the notes but Midnight Oud is 90% Interlude Man.

The opening of MO is a little bit different but after 15-20 minutes it is very similar to The Blue Beast. The longevity of Midnight Oud is ok but not close to Interlude. The clone lasts and projects for about 4-5 hours maximum. On the other hand Interlude Man lasts...forever.

Interesting, even the box is clearly inspired...
Strange that they called it oud, since Interlude is not an oud.

Good reviews and Youtubes indeed; ordered a bottle for only €23 as I love Interlude (but it is so strong) and being very curious.
Really hope this one is indeed more versatile.

Received this gem yesterday and is indeed at like 90% similar to Interlude. For the 23 euros/100ml I payed a complete steal imo.

    Main differences (imo!):

    - less oregano in the opening (a good thing)
    - less incense and a bit more woody
    - smell wise almost the same after a short while (1.5 hrs). Midnight Oud is a tad more sweet overall, but not by much.
    - performance: on me way above average performance; having good projection for at least 6 hrs and closer to the skin for way more. This morning when I woke up i could clearly smell it on my arm easily! (two sprays put on about 12 hrs prior) and the smell pleased me more than the (imo little harsh) far drydown of the real Interlude.
    - Quality to price wise extremely good stuff
    - more versatile than the real deal which is also a pre imo
    - most positive reviews are spot on imo
