"White Florals are rich, sumptuous and some can be indolic - gardenia, tuberose, jasmine, and orange blossom. Other white floral notes can cool down a big, hot white floral perfume - lily of the valley, magnolia, ylang, lily. Narcissus does as well, but it also can be used to make a white floral a little darker."

I never gave much thought as to the definition of white floral-- my own head stopped with gardenia, tuberose, jasmine, lily of the valley, lily. Live and learn!

That makes sense, since I basically don't like white florals. And it does have an apricot-like smell to me.

That makes sense to me too. Very redolent of apricot.

Thanks for everyone’s replies on the “color” of florals. Very enlightening.
For a number of them it’s definitely I know it when I smell it, yet I’m unable to articulate why.

I will be wearing Neroli Portofino or its neroli bolstered by other white florals in an attempt to extend the life of the fleeting neroli note.
    1. No, never blind buy (I do, but do as I say, not as I do. I'm taking no responsibility for your fragrance gambling).
    2. Get them both. You're a Basenoter and you know you're going to end up purchasing them both eventually.

I have a mini of EDT version, with slightly different note pyramid than the EDP listed in BN directory:
    Top Notes Yuzu, Osmanthus, Peony
    Heart Notes Iris, Rose, Jasmine
    Base Notes Cedar, White musk

Despite that, I still do feel the vanilla quite well and it's slightly sweet (though not oriental to my nose despite some reviews stating that), slightly warm, very feminine and very quietly behaving - I dabbed everywhere like crazy, but I can smell it only when smelling my wrist directly or waving my hands around my face.
So it's a sweet and polite lady.
I don't exactly love it, but I saw a very cute 5 ml mini bottle for €2 and couldn't resist, and it's nice for a change.

Happy Shycat Day! Cheers to a great BNer! You bring much humor and fun, plus you smell good. Our kind of gal!

I'm twins with teardrop, though I am at the end of my Carnal Flower sample, and my relationship with it. Had some dabs left from back when I was trying to convince myself that I'm a BWF girl. Alas, I'm just not, though I do love white flowers when they're not so BIg. Have to give CF its due, it is a stunner and definitely has enough personality for this sync, which was my first requirement for today! I smell gorgeous, if not very much like me. If BWFs were more my thing, I'd need this.

    Enjoy your party, Shycat!

I was off the grid last week and didn't get to participate in the Layering Sync, so I thought I'd combine that with today's Roses and White Flowers Sync. As a result, I am wearing one spray each of Amouage's Lyric Man (roses) with Amouage's Reflection Man (white flowers). I thought it would be good to wear something from the same house, and this was a good opportunity because I usually wear both of these in the spring, and I start my summer rotation June 1st.

It's kind of an odd combination, and I'm not gonna lie...my wife told me that the blend of the two smells like a Valentine's Day bouquet. I think ti's a nice pairing, and the lime in Lyric Man is accentuating the creamy sandalwood in Reflection Man.

I rushed out the door today and had forgot to apply my chosen white floral. So when I got to work, I rummaged through my bike pack and found...Rogue Champs Lunaires! Tuberose: close enough. It's certainly a big dense floral, and on the tuberose color scale, it feels fairly "white" to me.

How do you know you're in this hobby to stay? When you can count on random niche perfume samples being in your bike pack.

Three cheers for meeshycat! A BNer I've come to associate with No.22, powder, lily, generosity, humor, and no f***s given - all things I admire.

Started off in my go-to white floral chypre (frankly, the only one I feel comfortable regularly wearing) Au Delà Narcisse des Montagnes - Bruno Fazzolari. Jasmine and narcissus are the primary flowers, perhaps with more narcissus so arguably a white and yellow floral, but it'll have to do. What is currently sold today is shortened to simply Au Delà Narcisse, but I'm still draining my older bottle with the longer name.

Now wearing a few sprays from Lily & Spice - Penhaligon's, a generous donation by hers truly to my quest for a lily fragrance for my girlfriend. It's outstanding. That Pen's axed this and Ostara makes me wonder if they're anti-floralites.

Will dive into some other samples later, Verano - Sarah Horowitz in both oil and EdP form, to continue with the white-floral-lily-samples-from-Shycat theme.
