    Default Dopp Kitt/Toiletry bag

Eagle Creek bag has made its match. Nylon inside is kinda tearing up. Needing something but can't decide between a dopp kit or a toiletry bag, like at LL Bean or Land's End.

Leather, I think, would not be a good call since water would get to it and I am thinking just in case something came loose or leaked, especially on an air plane.

I don't travel much, but when I do, it's mostly by auto. So $50 is about what I would like to spend

I was thinking that the LL Bean one actually would not hold as much since unless it fits in a pouch, it would fall out when you hang it up

So I think it may be down to these, and if someone who travels more than me can opine, great. Worried about leakage into the suitcase

Duluth nylon, hanging option, probably a bit better than an LL BEan option?

Orvis hanging option, like a dopp kitt that hangs more so than the multi compartment LLBean

Two options from Etsy: Advantages are much cheaper and waxed canvas, so cheaper than a Filson, but one has plastic overlay, the second a bit nicer trim on the outside

And REI has a shower roll and a hanging bag. one Shower roll is $10. Any experience with those.

I edited this post to take out leather as an option

As you, I am a bit scared of leather for a toiletry bag. Inevitably, it will get wet or something will spill. So I think something that's canvas or nylon is best. You can toss in a washing machine as needed.

Whether you want a hanging one or not depend on your taste and how it works out. Being able to hang can be useful, so my vote for the Duluth cargohold.

As for myself, when I travel (mostly plane) I go minimalistic. A simple ziploc bag of allowed dimensions is all that's needed. But then I don't shave daily, my beard grows slowly, so for most trips I don't need to bring razor and shaving cream.

Incidentally, re: thing spilling. Shampoo or soap things are not the end of the world. Oils and alcohol can damage clothes if they go outside. For that reason, I think it is more prudent to put oils and alcohol in a ziploc bag.

That REI shower roll looks like a great design. So practical.

    Found these:
1> Bass Pro - not a great look but super big, cheap and functional. Nothing fancy, but leak proof lining. $10.63 shipped to the local store

Think I found it, if I can get over the look of the front panel. Huge as far as cubic inches, almost a third bigger than the others (495 vs 385 or so).

    https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/whit...op-shaving-kit

Two big compartments, side zip for like bandaids, medicine, toothbrush. Water proof outside and inside looks to be able to keep leakage contained.

2> Rei: This one is interesting, and could be $10 and picked up locally. I dont like the look of it as much as I think. if I get this, it is only because I can get the hideous berry color for $10.

    3. Orvis: Also not sure about leakage.

So I think these are the three finalists. Anything stand out to you?

On the REI, I am thinking that the Orvis or Duluth would be the same or better and with discount coupons, same price. There is the shower roll one and the only reason why I would get that is due to the price. Something about it seems off to me for some reason, but we have an REI locally and so I will go in today and see if they have one.

Other than REI, how do the other ones in my last post strike anyone?

Just ordered the bass pro one. I mean, I overthink and it was the largest, with the nylon inner, and $10.93 shipped to the house

That is a great looking bag!

And it would cost an arm and a leg but you know who needs to make a dopp kit? Tom Bin!
