    Default Mango/Passionfruit top note

    Hey All,
I posted a bit ago about an orange blossom heart accord, and after a while of messing around with that I've finally figured out my heart accord-- some jasmine sambac and blenders did the trick
Now that I have that made, I thought up the idea that a mango/passionfruit rich top-middle note would accompany the perfume quite beautifully. I've never messed around with mango or passionfruit, and I'm not really sure where to start to get that rich sweet tartness-- whether I use naturals or synthetics, it doesn't matter. I am aware that there is a Passionfruit Base Givco but I feel that it would overwhelm too long into the heart note drydown.

So are there any suggestions of accords I could try or materials I could mess around with until I get that fruity sweet and tart top note?
    Thanks all,
    Will

There is also my own Mango base at Perfumer Supply House too.

The issue with both Mango and Passionfruit is that mimicking a natural fruit is quite a bit more difficult than one might expect, and that both of these fruits rely on sulfur molecules to give them their life.

Granted I am making a bit of an assumption, but to say, possibly your skill level in perfumery might give you freedom to use these two bases, the great passion fruit base, and my mango base. Alternatively, you can search out headspace gc's for both fruits, and glean what molecules you can obtain, and build a base of those combined, and see if that pleases you... kinda like this:

About this, I only know Firmenich base "passion fruit", good, fruity and fresh, with mango/kiwi/peach notes, but not many sweet...

Yeah I had done some reading about the Sulfur molecules, not much. I wasn't sure if there was much of a way around that or some other substitute I could use to replicate that. I'll absolutely try both the Mango and Passionfruit bases and I'll keep updating you with my results Thanks for the help, it means a lot! @PK @Geco
