Good morning everybody *yawn* Today it was hard getting out of bed. All I really wanted to do was call in sick :P .....Looking outside it's pouring down a lot of snow in a very short amount of time :O I didn't call in sick , though. It's probably just this time of year. ( really dark ...) have problems sleeping at night and even more so getting up in the morning. My tea and chocolate calendar was a bit of a motivation. So now I have some coffee and chocolate before getting dressed. Sotd-wise I'm in Dior homme. Aparantly the bf also enjoys this, so he will join me later in the same sotd. Have a great day all

Good morning all !. Quick check in before heading off to catch the Eurostar across to Belgium for a couple of days of shameless indulgence among the medieval architecture, seasonal markets, old pubs and chocolate shops. Beer o'clock is a foregone conclusion

Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. Morning all! Today is sheet day--washing and changing bed linens: sheets, pillowcases, pillow undercases, mattress pads, quilts. My precious baby is standing straight with shoulders squared through finals, and when he hits the home front he "can breath so easy." Yah. Because mom keeps clean bathrooms, fresh linens, and a stocked refrigerator. Suppers appear. Clothes on the laundry room floor miraculously show back up in the closet, ready to go again.

I'm faking him out. I should tell him sometime that when he's gone things go to hell and the fridge has spinach and broccoli.

I'm sampling Auphorie today--starting with No. 15. Interesting as always--a soft yet unmistakably masculine floral with the first pleasant metallic edge I've ever smelled.

ETA: I'm also forcing a lot of pissed off little birds to make do with safflower seeds before I break out a new supply of sunflower seeds. Tough love.

Once I'm done imaginarily shoveling Larimar's snow, I'm taking a fantasy ride aboard the Eurostar with Jon. Weird preferences, shoveling and train travel, yes. But that's what I'll play with whist in the dental hygienist's chair this a.m. Wasn't planning to wear a scent for this circumstance, but reading CuddleCat's mention of Rosh Flash makes me think I'll wear a drop of same on my chest.

Guerlain Eau de Cologne Impriale today
Only the fool would take trouble to verify that his sentence was composed of ten as, three bs, four cs, four ds, forty-six es, sixteen fs, four gs, thirteen hs, fifteen is, two ks, nine ls, four ms, twenty-five ns, twenty-four os, five ps, sixteen rs, forty-one ss, thirty-seven ts, ten us, eight vs, eight ws, four xs, eleven ys, twenty-seven commas, twenty-three apostrophes, seven hyphens and, last but not least, a single!

Go ahead. Test the veracity of this (1960s I think) pre-computer generated masterpiece of self-referential sentences.

    Hello all,

I’m wearing Hilde Soliani Buonissimo today.

The hubs and I had the most amazing evening last night at the Irvine Spectrum (shopping and entertainment center) with its giant Christmas tree and music and special electronic lighting effects all around. People were spontaneously breaking out into dance. Really joyous! My Chanel No. 22, applied in the morning, was still going strong late at night.

Shycat, I love reading about your preparations for your son’s homecoming. I spoiled mine too but now he’s married. We have them over for dinner every week.

    Have a good day.

I am comparing four ambers on my arms today

L'Artisan Parfumeurs Ambre (circa 1988) I never much liked it when I was young which is why I still have some left.

    SL Amber Sultan

    MP&G Ambre Precieux

    Parfum d'Empire Ambre Russe

The L'Artisan and MP&G are both by Jean-F. Laporte, of course, but they are quite different. The Artisan has too much vanilla in it imo.

There was something about the opening of A. Precieux I didn't like, but once it settled I think I liked this best of the four. It could have been the lavender being too sharp, but something softened it quickly. I can smell the lavender in it very well.

Ambre Russe is too rough for my taste. The burnt smell in it must be the Russian Leather, I assume, hence the name.

Ambre Sultan, though not my favorite, I would have to rate the best of the four. There's a powdery element to it which I didn't expect. It is just so well put together and really stands out.
How do you know what a French whorehouse smells like?
