    Default Angélique Encens

When Creed discontinued Angelique Encens about 10 years ago, there was forum-talk about it re-releasing it in 10 years. Anyone else remember this or is it just wishful thinking on my part?

Right before (I mean hours) I learned of AE being discontinued, I bought an ounce from a reliable Internet seller. Previously, I owned a little decant from The Perfumed Court.
I'm revisiting the Ebay buy today and wow! It's gorgeous, smells rich and my husband really likes it (a bonus). However, I remember being disappointed when I first acquired the Ebay purchase, it was not at the level of the decant I had from TPC. I think I narrowed it down to the ambergris. The decant was smoother, richer and, at the same time, ethereal. Like nothing else I've smelled before or since. The Ebay purchase, however beautiful, lacks some of that magic.

    Thoughts on formulations?

It's possible that the decant from TPC was from Creed's green flacon.....which in my experience, had a history of yielding stronger/bolder juice than Creed's later clear flacons (which they were using before discontinuing some of their best Private Collection scents).

The juice in the green flacons usually just seemed to have more "oomph!"

Only have experience with the flacon as that's the one I bought for my wife. She loves it.

I purchased a decant 5/6 years ago from ebay and the green flacon.

The incense was magnificent but unfortunately the angelica smelled like celery on my skin.

My experience - more for you! Enjoy !

I just stopped by the new Creed Boutique in Los Angeles and they just received Angelique Encens in 75ml spray bottles.

I also looked on their website and no info. They did say it was a boutique exclusive. Not available for another week.

I never heard of it. Checked eBay just now. Based on the prices, I would say the sellers are either drunk or high as kites, whereas the buyers are just plain mad.

Holy crap! I thought I would never see the day Angelique Encens would be rereleased. I'd like to know if this is a limited run and how the batch would compare to the original formulation.

Is there a batch number for Angelique Encens?

What sizes will it be available in? Flacons? Price?

Most importantly: The quality of ingredients and scent as compared to the original release. Just because it was re-released doesn't exactly mean it will be the same scent as before. I hope I can get sample scent to do a comparison.

Are there any plans to releasing other Private Collection fragrances?

The juice is definitely a lot lighter in color than the original stuff. I hope the scent is the same.

Hmmm. It would by nice to get my hands on some, IF it's as good as what I sampled previously.

Hopefully it’s at least a limited run with fairly reasonable prices!

The original release is spectacular. It's in my top 3 favorite Creeds

I'd jump on it. You can always sell it later on if you don't care for it.

I wouldn't expect nothing less than a steep price tag. Take a look at some of the other priced bottles: Aventus, Royal Exclusives, that should give an idea of what to expect. That' my gut feel instinct.

In this new age of IFRA regulations and what Creed has been putting out in the last couple of years, it's very doubtful. However for an individual who has never smelled it before it might not matter at all.

Yup. Flacons going for a few thousand easily, that's been like that for quite some time.

Wow. I once had a 1000 ml green flacon of Angelique Encens. When it was first discontinued, the Creed Boutique in New York called me saying that their store in Paris had some rare 1000 ml flacons. I also had Bois de Santal and Cypres Musc. I know I shared a lot of splits of them here. Just cant imagine how much that flacon would be worth now. It was an excellent batch too.

I think I saw it on your sales page if I recalled. A beautiful scent. I ended up with a green flacon myself, it's such a comforting scent wouldn't you agree?

I'm just wishing I could've contacted Dullah for his flacon of Verveine Narcisse, another favorite of mine.

Have you heard of Bois de Rhodes and Cuir Imperial? I wish there was an image of it.

Those were epic batches. Epic times, too. I remember getting new old stock from Les Scenteurs for dirt cheap, even with the FedEx Overnight across the pond. Creed fans go the distance and then some, that's for sure!

Since the info came out about the new AE at the Creed boutique, I decided to buy a sample from Surrender to Chance. Been wearing it all day, and not quite sure about it yet. There is a nice slightly green aspect of it, but I think it’s dominated by the angelica, jasmine, and vanilla. Just too powdery for me maybe.

It's not an easy scent to enjoy by any means. It takes some getting use to especially if you're not into vintage styled fragrances. It would help to enjoy powdery ambery/oriental florals.

.Dullah hasn't been in the mode of selling decants for many years. He ignores individuals who send him PMs for decants. He also ignored individuals on Crystal Flacon as well in the past.

I've been told its available too in Paris Boutiques, but not in the UK. Trying to get an email address for France because Im no longer fluent in speaking it :s
But once you get locked into a serious perfume collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can.
