Default I just mixed Baque with Vanille and nothing exploded

    but it is pretty sweet...

Baque by Slumberhouse is heavier on rum notes...

Vanille by Mona di Orio is heavier on vanilla

    Together they rock...

(I put them on my shirt)

    What combos do you enjoy/

I personally don't combine or layer, but understand that there are many who do and enjoy doing so.

It can ruin the purity of a fragrance, I'm sure, in many cases.

You must have a very sweet tooth. Baque is already too syrupy for my taste.

One combo that works IMO is Tuscan Leather and Tobacco Vanille. But only when the weather is cool.

I do love sugar. I can see how Tuscan Leather and Tobacco Vanille would be a great combo.

I'm a fan of old-school masculine 'florals' such as carnation and geranium.
I enjoy layering Etro Gomma (leather) with Etro Dianthus (carnation) as a substitute for Equipage, or as an alternative to floral leathers such as Knize Ten or Heeley Cuir Pleine Fleur.

Now I actually have a decant of vintage Hermes Equipage (which includes leather and carnation notes), though the Etros together are still good, and the overall effect is rather different from Equipage or the others I mentioned.
December Rotation : Penhaligon's Elixir; Caron Yatagan; Etro Vetiver, Ambra, Gomma, Heliotrope; CdG Avignon, Zagorsk; Robert Piguet Casbah; Lalique Encre Noire; Gucci Guilty Absolute pour Homme; Jacomo de Jacomo, Boucheron Jaipur
Sampling : Lutens Fille En Aiguilles......

    Seems like a tasty idea.

Great it went well for you, happy that you enjoy this combo.

So far, have layered very little but when it did happen- as mentioned on a few similar threads from the past- the result got quite a few unexpected compliments for the combination of two scents oddly not even close to personal favorites, the regular Dior Homme, personally perceived as not the best Dior, even compared to its flankers.

But the combination with the second scent, namely the bargain priced Eau de Cedre Bleu by Yves Rocher (still personally liking it much more than Dior Homme, in fact, almost with the potential of becoming a personal favorite if its performance were not so weak) turned this experience into a woody-powdery delight on a completely new level of smoothness, luxuriousness and unexpected complexity.
