Picture tomorrow--my bedroom is too dark right now.

I decided February was too pretty...lots of pretty, light florals that were kind of similar. So the new rotation changes that up some. I'm still including samples and decants--if I finish one, I can replace with another. Last month I finished my sample of Ormonde Jayne Vanille d'Iris *sob*. I think I will be getting that one soon. I replaced it with D.S. & Durga Debaser, which I didn't like much. It's a great perfume--so much development!!--but most of the development on me was a kind of stinky woods. I put it in my giveaway pile.

Two are continued from last month:
    1. Guerlain L'Heure Bleue edp: because I always have this one out
    2. Bottega Veneta Knot: focus finish, another perennial favorite

    Other full bottles:
    3. Chloe Roses de Chloe
    4. CB I Hate Perfumes A Room with a View
...both because spring needs to come already!

    Travel sizes
    5. Frederic Malle Une Fleur de Cassie...because last month was too pretty
    6. Arielle Shoshana Arielle Shoshana...because I love the passionfruit

    Big decants
    7. Amouage Bracken Woman...again, last month was too pretty. Gosh, I like this one. I only have about 2 ml left of my Scentbird decant.
    8. Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Herba Fresca...because last month I didn't have a gym scent

Small decants/ samples (each of these might have 1-2 wearings left)
    9. Hermes Hiris...forgot I had this decant. Oops
    10. Frederic Malle Music for a While...I will probably buy this in 10 ml at some point
    11. Chanel Les Exclusives 1932...because I need a pretty floral!
    12. Ormonde Jayne Orris Noir...because I will buy an OJ this year and am still picking

I'm looking forward to the new month! I think I will miss Gin Fizz, Dia Woman, and Vanille d'Iris.

Do they differ appreciably? I’m considering a Jicky purchase myself but I’m unsure about the concentration. I’ve had samples of the Parfum and the EDT (probably old), but not the EDP.

They are quite similar. I haven't made a side by side comparison yet, though. If something the new might be a littlebit stronger and more lemony in the topnotes. Will compare and let you know my impression. Also the new seems a tiny bit more " oriental" and rounded, possibly.... I haven't tried the new edp, but the old formulation seemed more oriental and civety ( I had a sample a few years back of the edp)

My March Rotation (1st month of Autumn):

I want to focus on these perfumes in March but there are a few others that I want to see how they perform in March temps. as well.

Coco Mademoiselle EDT & EDP Intense by Chanel
    Daim Blond by Serge Lutens
    Eau Duelle EDP by Diptyque
    Ginger Biscuit by Jo Malone
    Mon Guerlain EDP by Guerlain
    Moonlight Patchouli by VC&A
    No.5 Eau Premiere & L'eau by Chanel
Orris & Sandalwood by Jo Malone
    Queen by Queen Latifah
    Samsara EDT by Guerlain
    Tubereuse 1 Capricieuse by HdP
    Valentino Donna

Only two perfumes have been carried over from my February rotation, I'm not ready to give these two a rest yet - Mon Guerlain & Moonlight Patchouli.
My March rotation has been working well but I need to make three changes to my rotation for the rest of the month. Nearly three weeks of bushfire smoke has greatly irritated my sinuses & I have problems wearing perfumes with aldehydes in them when my sinuses are haywire so I'm exchanging No.5 Eau Premiere & No. 5 L'eau with Bottega Veneta EDP & Raw Silk and Red Roses by 4160 Tuesdays. Also, discovered this month that Valentino Donna turns a bit too sweet on me in early autumn weather so I'm exchanging that perfume with L'Agent by Agent Provocateur.

My All Year Rounder perfumes are:
    Eau Rose by Diptyque
    L'Instant Magic by Guerlain
    No.19 Poudre by Chanel

Separating my all year round perfumes from my rotation picks worked so well that I've decided to list the perfumes that I love to wear in all 3 months of Autumn in a special Autumn favourites section, too.

    My Autumn Perfume Favourites are:
    Bottega Veneta EDP
    Daim Blond by Serge Lutens
    Ginger Biscuit by Jo Malone
    Moonlight Patchouli by VC&A
Raw Silk & Red Roses by 4160 Tuesdays

    My April Rotation:

I want to focus on these perfumes in April but there are a few others that I want to see how they perform in April temps. as well.

    Bal d'Afrique by Byredo
Coco Mademoiselle EDP Intense by Chanel
Doe in the Snow by 4160 Tuesdays

Le Petite Robe Noire Black Perfecto EDP by Guerlain
Orris & Sandalwood by Jo Malone
    Stash by SJP
Wood Sage & Sea Salt by Jo Malone

At some stage during April as a mini project, I would like to compare my Le Petite Robe Noire perfumes - EDP, Couture & Black Perfecto EDP.

Oh my gosh, all these beautiful rotations!! I’m so inspired (well, even more than I was, lol) to expand my collection and get to the point where I have a real variety to select from. <3

I don’t have any major projects for April, but have a few goals:
1.) Purchase a Chanel fragrance that both the boyfriend and the cat love, or at least tolerate. The only perfume kitty doesn’t hate is No.5, likely because I spray this on my pillowcases and bedsheets every few nights and she LOVES my bed. The boyfriend could live without it, hah. Good thing he has his own house...
2.) Wear two fragrances each day: morning/midday, and evening.
3.) Write at least one review a week.

I’ll make sure to post about them, then. The Chamade and Vent Vert are vintage goodies from grayspoole. I’ve sprayed them once each, but I want to explore further. Silences is also from her, but it’s the modern. I’ve been getting into galbanum, narcissus and hyacinth notes lately.

And aren’t my boys the sweetest? The nine year old was afraid when I gave him the last spray of Rush from my 30 ml bottle that it was the one he’d just gotten. He said, “Oh, no! Well, I guess Mother’s Day is coming up.” Then I pulled the backup out and he did a sigh. Rush is his favorite. He used to borrow sprays of Rush from my dresser when he was a toddler: he’d spray two sprays in his hair. Then when he walked in reeking of it, I’d ask him if he borrowed some perfume and he’d shake his head innocently.

April has been cold so far, and spring still seems a long way off.
I just finished a bottle of Penhaligon's Elixir, and though I have a back-up, it can wait until autumn. There's also a sample kicking around.

Leather, incense and smoke still hitting the spot for me.
    Hermes Equipage - vintage, decant
Hermes Equipage Geranium - sample, likely to finish; might also wear Bel Ami and Bel Ami Vetiver samples
    Dior Fahrenheit - decant
    Gucci Guilty Absolute pour Homme
    Knize Knize Ten
    Etro Gomma
    Jacomo Jacomo de Jacomo
    Odin 07 Tanoke - decant
    Piguet Casbah
    Knize Knize Sec
might also wear samples of Tauer's Lonestar Memories and Lonesome Rider

Celebrating the arrival of Spring with
    Penhaligon's Ostara
    Robert Piguet Futur (sample)
    Hermes Rocabar (sample)

Notes about my sampling this month:

    Chamade Vintage EDC

Oily on my hand— immediately aldehydic— splitting the difference between La Myrrhe and vintage No. 5 with a hint of the breeze from Rive Gauche. Though immediately earthy and fresh, with a hint of leather, it’s not as green as I expected. The floral notes, however, spell spring. Unlike the bitter rose of Rive Gauche or the sultry ylang/jasmine of No. 5, it feels like I’m standing under my oak tree in early March, smelling the hyacinths and daffodils.

    Vent Vert 1947 EDT

Immediate sap, like a snapped plant stem, and then a bitterness that moves it quickly to soap and powder. Clean and a bit smoky with an acrid resinousness at the back of the throat. I wish I could hold on to the snapped stem forever, but the soapy ending is triple milled and French. This is the ancestor of all of my greens, and it has a regal bearing.
My only regrets in life are the people I haven't stood up for,
and the perfumes I've thrown away.
