Thanks. Unfortunately already have those being offered, but passed it on to friends.

Thank you for sharing. I pulled the trigger on a bottle of 1872 Basil that I had been considering.

I’d love to pick a couple of bottles or travel sets at these prices. Unfortunately they don’t ship to Asia.

I´m contemplating this offer. Have any of you tried "E green fougere with aromatic lavender" - the female version? Very few reviews on this but the ones I´ve read talks about a unisex/masculine leaning fragrance. Is it any good?

X Tabac or 1872 Basil are nice flankers of the original.

I wonder how similar the Tabac flanker is, to the original X for Men? Thinking of buying that, or X Liquorice, while they're on sale. Just recently ran out of X, and this is a great deal.

Went ahead and bought the X Twist Tabac. Sure beats trying to find legit X tester bottles for $200+, that haven't been used without your knowing, as the bottles are opaque. lol

I don't think you will be disappointed. It's very similar, I doubt most people who smell this on you from a distance would know that you were wearing something other than X for men. I would imagine that some people might feel that it is redundant to own both X for Men and X Tabac, although with X and Roja's Reckless being some of my favorite fragrances I don't feel that it is.

There certainly are differences, The tobacco note is very smooth and seems to run throughout the life of the fragrance, it's so well blended that it smells like a cinnamon tobacco note to me. The deep dry down is less woody than the original to my nose and I feel this projects just a tad more than the original.

Overall I feel that X Tabac is an improvement in some ways over the original. Certainly worth it for the sale price you can get it for right now,

So glad to read the tobacco note carries through. It lessens my concerns of blind buying. Can't wait to receive mine. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on it.

Wow, thanks for this breakdown, it's just what I was looking for. Reckless & X are also two of my favorite fragrances. The best parts of each, are the awesome balsamic opening of Reckless, and the rooty, creamy drydown of X, and I don't think they are redundant either. By your description, it sounds like Tabac may just improve the top of X for me!

I ended up purchasing x Licorice. I love the smell of the candy but hate the taste of it. Has anyone tried this? I’m hoping it’s a strong fragrance as it was released to the middle eastern markets.

I just placed another order for X Licorice and 1872 Basil. Can't wait to try them.

FYI I emailed Clive Christian customer service and they said the sale has been extended until January 14th, but supplies are limited.

    Yes hednic , finally .
I've never sampled Clive before .
    My package just arrived.
The free samples , both , are in nice glass sprayers.
The Clive Private Collection 5x5ml discovery set ,for $112 is heavy
    Awesome packaging.
Will let you know more about the purchase.
    VERY VERY happy so far.

    Just had to open it.
Yes, the 5 mls are in sprayer form .
    Wonderful outer box . sleeve.
Excellent inner box , with lid, that houses you 5 scents.
    Embossed Clive logo
Flaps to pull each bottle out from the fitted holders .
    Very nice.
Sometimes you get tired trying to jam your finger around to pull your bottle out.
Nice booklet in the middle of the top lid that's fitted in by form.
I'm commenting on the presentation because it's so damn nice.
    A+++++ . Seriously .
I was wearing Noir Exquis , and that one tends to stick to me for a good while.
So I'll comment back latter on.

    Thanks for asking hednic.
Thinking about picking up some of those 10 ml XXI's .
    Have to sample first though.

Well my first reaction is Yay! Having never smelled anything from the house, I am very pleased with how it smells so far. I'm not a wordsmith or a experienced nose, so I will just say it smells as described in the booklet that came with it:

"An effervescent yet warming blend of coriander, tobacco absolute and oakwood, this spicy, woody fragrance is reminiscent of a classic cologne yet retains an inviting, modern feel."

I would say that effervescent part in the opening is a little citrusy too.

Nice! Picked up the X candle set and the Twists sample set. I'd been hounding my local Clive Christian salesman for the candles, and they never showed up (they gave them as an exclusive to Neiman's but the Neiman's here doesn't carry Clive, so they're just not available in Northern California). And here they are at half price... I think Clive went a little nuts with the exclusives at the expense of actually selling product.
