As you should be! As mentioned earlier, I wanted to share one of my photos of these two Schiaparelli ensembles on display at the Fashion Institute of Technology's museum as part of their "Pink: The History of Punk, Pretty, Powerful Color" exhibit: the left is an original designed by Elsa herself back in 1947 and the right is a current piece, in that glorious shocking pink hue, by Bertrand Guyon.

    How does the perfume smell!?!?

I'm happy for the extraordinary addition to Jon's vintage & rare fumes. You're going to have to share a picture of your growing collection soon.

I just dropped the most $ for a frag ever. My spending is thrifty by most BNers' measure, but you all have pushed me to new limits, and thanks to Oriane's post about Neiman-Marcus' discount, I have the beautiful Guerlain Coquin coming.

Oh Quarry congrat's I know you really love this one. It's very much a 'new' Guerlain, but well done. Enjoy!

    Thanks, Mike, N.CAL.
Jon, might I suggest you re-label this bottle with that photo you've posted in the past of a historical barbershop -- or maybe you already have that image framed and hanging near where you keep your bottled beauties.

Oh I'm so happy for you. I love this one.

I made a modest purchase of two older minis of Organza Indecence.

Thanks. I'll probably still be doing the happy dance come May, Hazel. I thought this'd be my Chicago meet-up souvenir, but $50 off? Duh!

Basically does exactly what it says in a very realistic way. Herbal shaving cream, basil, lavender, tonka and hints of leather to my nose. Anyone who enjoys a good retro fougere should definitely give it a sniff.

Sincerest apologies - somehow, I inexplicably missed it

It is an addictive honeyed floral with a rich civet that emphasises the vintage feel and a musky amber / sandalwood / patchouli base. Despite it's age I was amazed to find little discernible deterioration with even the top notes reasonably intact.

Many thanks for the pic, btw. Much appreciated

No worries. It just looked as though you replied to others' posts instead of mine hence the feeling of being ignored.

I've read about Shocking perfume and have always wanted to experience it given many rave reviews and your description makes me want to smell it even more. You're so lucky to have that! I hope you enjoy it.

Out of curiosity, do you "save" your perfumes or regularly rotate them? I know some never open perfumes which I think is so silly given that we're all going to die one day.

Shortly after my run in this frigid cold I decided to pop into the pharmacy down the block where, in the past, I've purchased 80s and 90s bottles of old classics for dirt cheap (L'Heure Bleue EDTs mid 80's, Habit Rouge de Guerlain EDTs mid 80s, Habit Rouge de Guerlain EDC splash mid 80s, Jil Sander N°4 early 90s, YSL Jazz late 80s) to see what they still had left and was surprised to find an end-cap with a "Fragrances 75% off final sale!" sign where this vintage bottle of Givenchy's Organza was sitting below for a mere $14.50. The bottle is just gorgeous! The pharmacy still has old bottles of Chloe Narcisse, Cabochard, Halston ones, Versace Red Jeans, Oscar De La Renta's Volupte, two 80's bottles of after shave of Guerlain's Vetiver and some others I can't recall.

I'm going to spray a bit on my wrist after I shower.

Thanks. It's a nice sweet white floral with amber. Smells fairly rich and complex.

I have been dithering over this one since before Xmas, loved it but unsure if I really wanted to buy it. Went back and retired a number of times and still just loved it.

Nuit et Confidences by Annick Goutal finally bought today as I got a good deal on Ebay.
