Next pay I’m paying off a store card from Christmas. Then March 1 I’m paying off my Home Depot card from the bathroom remodel last year. Then Lowe’s the next two months. And then the car. I am hoping to hold off on buying anything until May (Chicago meet up). Exception to this rule is if I find some way to get my hands on a bottle of Mito EDP. All bets are off on that. Another possible exception is a backup bottle of With Love or Beige. Or if I finish something I don’t expect to finish (doubtful).

In the meantime, I am planning to finish 1-2 by then: Flower Le Parfum and maybe Gucci Rush. I have a backup of the Gucci so it doesn’t bring down my wardrobe. Does the netto include backup bottles?
Great job! I paid off one card last month, and then paid $1000 on another. The old snowball is rolling!

At least I rarely put a cologne on credit.

I recently got up to around 65 bottles. I sold off about 12 over the last few days, bought 3 new ones. I think I'm at about 55 total bottles right now.

Thanks! Good job to you! I see you’ve taken a Dave Ramsay class.

So I did pay off the Christmas cards, but then the other upstairs bathroom failed... so the snowball melted for March. Hopefully I can get back on it by May or June. This remodel is getting expensive.

I am planning to buy some perfume in May at the Chicago meetup. I might also pick up some more Bvlgari The Vert at a good price for Spring. But so far no purchases for 2019! (Except a few samples.) And I’m almost done with the two bottles I mentioned; I should be down two total/one wardrobe bottle by the end of the month. (One I’ve them I received a backup of for Christmas, but I won’t replace the other.)

So right now I’m still Netto: 0 for 2019.

I sold a decant of Tobacco Vanille.

End a bottle in 2019 and you are -1. End a bottle and buy two new ones, then you are +1. Nothing advanced. I am counting my samples and decants as well as my bottles.

It will be interesting to see how long I can keep 0 or a negative netto before my lust of purchasing takes back the control.

Please share how your collection is changing! And a happy new year to all of you!
This is a good idea. I've been trying to follow a similar guideline.

Following a flurry of purchases since Christmas (most of 'em cheapies, thankfully), I'm done with fragrance purchases until I clear some stuff out. I've got enough stuff to work through.

Bought three bottles in past fortnight (two in past 5 days!)

Was quite good so far, had massive clearout, trying to "kondo" my collection. Gifted close to 40 bottles.

However have fallen off track and bought

Tom Ford Ombre Leather 18 (2nd bottle)
    Dior Homme Intense
    Hermes Bel Ami Vetiver
    YSL L'Nuit de L'homme
    YSL Y edp

Samples and decants, I just can't. It would be too busy. Gotta say, my clicker finger is getting reeeeal itchy. Probably gonna splurge on a batch of cheapies just to quell it.

I told myself I'd buy no more than 4 bottles in 2019 - one per season. Well, we're already heading into late March and I haven't made a purchase yet this year, so I'm on track.

Years ago, it would have been harder for me to control my spending, but I've built up a wardrobe that I'm really happy with. My wardrobe is only around 50 bottles, but there are only 7 days in a week. I sometimes struggle to decide which of my favorites to wear each day.

For me, the trick to building an amazing wardrobe has been to follow my own nose, not internet hype, and to only buy fragrances I truly love. It may sound redundant, but... if you only buy scents you love, you'll have a wardrobe filled with scents you love, and that's so much better than owning a ton of fading hypes, filler and impulse purchases gone wrong. I always sample first, and when in doubt, I buy a 5ml decant before I commit to a bottle.

I did a mistake when I made this sound like this only were for the ones wanting to downsize. You did it! You kept track. There's nothing wrong with increasing your collection, almost all of us does that.

As of February 2, my NETTO = -14

    Since then I've:

    Bought 9. Netto = -5

    But sold 20. Netto = -25

    Current Netto = -25

I'd like to get this to about -30 for the year, and then keep it there.

It's good to be back in the Netto thread!

H-West, Congrats on finishing your bottle! I haven't done that in a long time....

These were my wardrobe counts to start 2019:

    Wardrobe count: 36
    Backup Count: 16
    Mini count including solids: 33

    So far the nettos are:

Wardrobe: Used up one for which I had a backup, so 0
Backups: Brought a backup out into the wardrobe, but purchased a backup for something else, so 0
    Minis: sold 1, so -1

60 a good number. I am at around 75 and have thought about cutting down. Buy some new stuff and sell two for every new one I buy.
