I'm not a 'backup' person, but I do have multiples of a couple of favourites.

Finished my 8ml of Valentino Uomo Intense today. I log my decants under samples. I can't remember my yearly start, but that is -1 in the decant category.

    As stands:

    Bottles: 20
    Decants: 14
It’s tragic to think that heroic man’s great destiny is to become economic man, that men will be reduced to craven creatures who crawl across the globe competing for money, who spend their nights dreaming up new ways to swindle each other.

As the year has gone on, I've resolved to steer clear of buying good deals from TJ Maxx and Marshals just because it's a good deal and I don't plan on wearing them very much. I'm just holding onto my cash so I can save it for bottles that I've wanted for a long time.
Sometimes at the discount stores, I do find what I'm looking for and get a good deal. I found a couple bottles of Michael Kors for men, which I was actually wanting to get since it's discontinued. But usually I end up just getting something else simply because it was a good deal. The discounters in my area are rarely hit and almost always miss.
So now I just stick to a strict list of what I'm after and try not to stray just because of a random bargain.

I bought two new bottles :O
My wife got a decant and emptied it for me and we shared another one (Club de Nuit for Women and Pomelo Paradis). So:

    Bottles: +1 (-1+2)

    Samples/decants: -10 (-15+5)

and the perfumes I've thrown away.

I felt the need for some new Ferrari fragrances so I bought some decants of Radiant Bergamot and Pure Lavender. And since DHP seems to be harder to get I had to get to know it by some regular wearings.

I did end one as well: Floris Elite

    Bottles: +1 (-1+2)
    Samples/decants: -10 (-17+7)
I still feel the need to try and buy new ones. I wonder why since I have so many I don't have time for many of them.

As part of my ongoing 'getting to know my fragrances better' project, I finished:

Burberry London for men (cloth on bottle). Was in my wardrobe for 10+ years, will not be replacing soon, too many similar but LOVED it.

Montblanc Starwalker. Another 10+ years member and really enjoyed this too but will not be replacing it any time.

Karl Lagerfeld Private Klub. Was a pick me up cheapie, great winter office wear that will not be replaced.

Calvin Klein Euphoria Essence. Love love this; a veritable Fahrenheit flanker IMO. Will be replaced if I find one for cheap.

Davidoff Cool Water (vintage). Not replacing this as there will always be Cool Water me thinks.

Davidoff Zino (vintage). Already have another vintage bottle as back-up. Perhaps the best mass market patchouli. Will always have this.

Paloma Picasso Minotaur. Another patchouli like Zino, but floral. Think Dior Dune but very dirty. Will always have this as well, had for 10+ years.

So that's 7 bottles that I was able to reduce from my collection. Hardest part was throwing the bottles away! I still have the Burberry...that tartan is too nice to trash

    However, I added 16.

    So netto: +9

    Current standings: 702 full bottles + 62 samples/decants/oils
    Waiting for Hednic's 8th star

I like your project! It is interesting to follow and fun to see how you can end some bottles and be done with them. Sometimes it is time to move on for new ones.

I have been travelling and I mostly used samples. That lead to ending three of them (Dior Homme Sport, Allure Homme Edition Blanche and Virke)

    Bottles: +1 (-1+2)

I used up two samples (YSL - Y edp and Colonia Assoluta) which means I'm finally below 100 samples and decants. But then I ordered another sample (Mefisto Gentiluomo). I'm back up

    Bottles: +1 (-1+2)
    Samples/decants: -14 (-22+8)

Ferrari Bright Neroli has grown on me so it ended with me emptying my decant. I had two drops left of Myrrh Casati by Mona di Orio which I ended too. I'm under 100 samples/decants again. I think

Wow, I haven't updated this in a while. I feel like the guy who's supposed to be on a diet but spent the whole month drinking Fribbles and now it's time to get on a scale.

As of April 2, my netto was -23.

Since then I've bought 17. This moves my netto to -6.

    But I've also sold 4.

    Current Netto = -10

*I think my original plan was to finish the year with a netto between -35 and -40. I'm not sure how that's going to happen. There may be 5 or 6 bottles I'd like to sell soon, but not much more than that. I kind of like my wardrobe at the moment. It currently stands at 90 bottles.
