Wow Starblind, really? That is too bad. And here I thought that I was so out of the norm for intensely disliking my five "green stinks" (violet leaf, galbanum, petitgrain, bergamot and oakmoss). Overall, there are many more notes that I like than those that I dislike; it unfortunately just happens that those that I dislike are very commonly used.

So many notes that I love are in this thread, it's crazy! (vetiver, oud, leather, sandalwood, tuberose, petitgrain)

I hate bay leaf, cloves if they're overpowering, marine/aquatic/oceanic notes, skanky musc.

Jasmine - for some reason, it is the one white floral note I cannot connect with for many years Ironically, there are so many blends with jasmine that I love, beginning to think it must blend well with other notes. Surprisingly, found that I have fallen for Must de Cartier Gold recently which is laden with jasmine - maybe the osmanthus helped provided the lovely delicate somewhat apricot like scent combined with jasmine is quite heavenly …

I feel bad for anyone who doesn't like jasmine --- for me, smelling jasmine (especially the fresh flowers) is like peeking into heaven with my nose.

Most notes I can tolerate when they are toned down a bit.

But ambergris, even in moderation, makes any cologne smell like Axe to me.

I’ve recently discovered that I can’t stand pineapple. I’ve tried to acclimate on more than a few wearings now, and with a couple of different houses and their versions (Aventus, Bondno9.com). but I’m pretty much resigned to the fact that I’m probably never going to like it.

Rose is another “thumbs down” for me. It seems like rose is the singular note that dominates and overwhelms the other notes in the fragrances I’ve tried, and I’m not a fan.

Cucumber - love to eat them, don't much care to smell like them.
Seaweed - see above except I don't want to eat this either.
Neroli - Just recently found this as a common denominator for some scents I really didn't care for. Heavy neroli to me smells like bug spray.
I also am not overly fond of tonka. A little bit is totally fine, but heavy tonka-based scents get on my nerves quickly.

Tomato leaf? Not sure I have tried one with that but suffice to say I don't want to smell like that either.

Powder - specifically baby powder. Whenever I have tried a fragrance and I start to smell baby powder, I wash it off right away. It's not that it smells bad, I just don't want to smell like baby powder.

I gotta go with Rose, Cumin, and whatever gives some frags that "Urinal Cake" smell.

I actually like Rose fine if it's in the form of a flower, or on a woman, so I must subconsciously associate it with something only a woman would wear and thus reject it. I gave my VC&A Pour Homme a year to see if it would grow on me, but the "black rose" smell is just too overpowering.

Cumin...I don't know that I actually dislike it, but it very easily becomes a "body odor" smell for me.
Kind of defeats the whole point of showering and putting on deodorant and fragrance.

Urinal Cake...no fond memories associated with that stuff. More like "ugh, I'm out of this none-too-clean public restroom as soon as possible"
Although, I think there may be a bit of it in my Versace l'Homme (which I like) and Ted Lapdius Pour Homme (which I like more than not but am iffy on)

Can you give me an example of a fragrance that overdoes coffee, so I can buy it!!

Oh ya, and after reading this, I forgot how much I hate immortelle! It smells like a weird floral and sandy maple syrup.

That reminds me, I'd like to try a coffee frag one of these days (I think there's a Mugler A*Men that has it).

I wonder if tobacco and coffee would be great together, or if it would be too much? Those are definitely two of my favorite scents in the real world...in fact I think I'm going to have a very rare smoke of an America Spirit right now, coz it's so damn good on a chilly rainy day...

When in high doses or unfortunate blendings:
Cumin, cardamom, Civet, jasmine, ambroxan, iso-E, oregano, smoky notes (the ones with ashtray smell), red pepper are the ones I can remember now.
