Default American houses you would recommend I try

I'm becoming very attached to American houses without the IFRA stuff.

    I like "natural" houses...

(And of course not only American: Areej le Dore, Bortnikoff....)

But back to American houses that I have already:

    Hendley
    Aftelier
    DSH
    Madhat
    January Scent
    Euphorium

What others can you recommend? Thank you

    Fazzolari (eg Lampblack)
The Zoo (American I believe, though the perfumer Laudamiel is french)

I think these are IFRA compliant, but they do great stuff.

I found some info on Soltice Scents, Angela St. John. Does anyone know much about them? I think they are in Florida.

    Yes, though only a couple.

Iso E Superman is the guy you want to talk to about Charna Ethier's work. I really like Rose Boheme.

While uncertain about their IFRA status, have also had experiences worth recommending with the house of Coach and particularly Leatherware

I am a big fan of Kerosene. R'Oud Elements is one of the best fragrances out there IMO.

Dame Perfumery is also worth exploring.

There seem to be two Dame Perfumery websites...can you cast some light on that?

Maybe start with the White House?

I would suggest Charenton Macerations and Bruno F.

In addition to those above I would add April Aromatics. Was started in NYC but is now based in Germany so not exactly all american. All natural and potent. I have sampled Calling All Angels and Bohemian Spice. I also really like Kerosene, and can vouch for R’oud elements as well as Broken Theories and Copper Skies. Broken Theories was my favorite. But I don’t know that he uses real Oud or how many naturals he uses. Rising Phoenix is another USA Perfumery that uses naturals and is right up your alley, but I think you may already know of him (owner/perfumer is JK DeLapp and is a great guy.)

D.S.& Durga is a Brooklyn based perfume brand. My favorite of the line is Durga. I don't know if they're IFRA compliant or not.

You can look into the Twisted Lily website, http://twistedlily.com/product-category/brands/
I remember they carry quite a few American brands, such as Apoteker Tepe, Bruno Fazolarri, Coolife etc. etc. Again I don't know if they're IFRA comliant.

Speaking of natural brand, you can sample Fueguia 1833, an Argentina brand. I'm not sure if it's all-natural, but they surely offer some quality (and original) products.

Not sure about the "other" one, or what that link is, but this is (to my understanding) their current one: https://dameperfumery.com/

Really friendly people there, and some very nice - yet creative - fragrances. And pretty reasonable prices.

Varvatos -- not a high-end house, but probably an underrated mid-range house.
You can probably find a few to try in a Sephora or someplace like that...

For what it’s worth, when Kerosene used to post on here and he was first creating R’Oud Elements he said he used a mix of real and synthetic oud. I don’t think being all natural is part of his philosophy and is more focused on the result the ingredient will get him.
    1. No, never blind buy (I do, but do as I say, not as I do. I'm taking no responsibility for your fragrance gambling).
    2. Get them both. You're a Basenoter and you know you're going to end up purchasing them both eventually.
    3. Yes, it has been reformulated.
    4. Looking for a signature scent? You've come to the wrong place.
