It seems that in certain parts of the fragosphere, today is Mitsouko Day, in honour of her Most Fickleness’ 100th birthday. I didn’t receive the memo until, on a cold morning, I’d already reached for Ambre Loup (it’s a cosy hug). I shall honour Madam Mitsouko later. Maybe. If she decides to smell nice. Last time I reached for her, she smelled of old ladies. For me, Mitsy time is early autumn - that’s when I crave her singular charms.

Diamonds and Rubies by Liz T.

8 degrees [minus 13 C] this morning with a wind chill of freeze-the-tip-of-your-nose-off annoyance. My cold is still here but, way better. Wasn't a bad one at least. We got a measly 5.5 inches [14cm] of snow yesterday, followed by rain. Chunky, crusty mess outdoors. I'm sure my vehicle is stuck, frozen to the street. Thankfully, I don't need it for a couple of days. I'll dig it out when the temps climb. Have a good week, y'all!

    Hello everyone!

ineespenes, I hope you can finally see the sun today! I have visited Tromsø ~13 years ago and was fascinated by Northen Norway, mountains and midnight sun, but polar night is a beast I haven't experienced in my life.

HouseOfPhlegethon, it's good to hear you're feeling better. Keep getting better!

I'm wearing Narciso Rouge today and I have to admit I happened to overapply it a bit. Now I'm living in a cloud of musk and roses and feeling thankful I have a room just for myself at workplace. Nobody has said anything though, so I'm secretly hoping I'm the only one who feels like it's a bit too much.

    Morning all!

lne, hope you see the sun today! l can't even imagine going all those months without it.

HoP, glad you're feeling better! My cold is almost gone too, & l've been able to do a workout this morning for the first time in nearly two weeks. l feel much better for it, as these days l get twitchy if l don't do enough exercise.

    l'm wearing Monsoon again today.

Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. That's why I can not wear a perfume that bothers me. Perfuming is an instinctive wisdom. And like all art, it requires some knowledge of yourself..."

Wow ineespenes, I hope you get to see the sun! Can’t imagine what my mental state would be after all that darkness.

Very windy here, a tree blew down on a house a few blocks away from me and killed two people, so sad.

    I’m wearing Fazzolari Unsettled.

The Cold™ is better. Thanks for asking, and today I'm sampling that licorice/ink/violet/cherry bomb Purple Heart from Map of the Heart. From the generous sample you sent. Thanks. It's interesting and strange.

Nice - but there is a base note (very synthetic) that might drive me crazy. Stay tuned.

I just thought I was born that way.

    @JakeStiebs
I need to replace my Geir. I let my son take mine eons ago and I've wanted it a couple times now...like bringing a lost sheep back into the fold.

F*&%. Again hitting the no more perfume until Chicago thing. I'm up to the alarm when I was sound...so blessedly sound asleep. F*$&@#(*^Y)@(^R$(*@&%$()*&A^@*A)(*&@#(%&. Still doing better and better each night-- total 6 hours last night. I'm convinced this will work and that I'll be better off in the end....it seems this shouldn't be different that jet lag, and having stopped Metformin (left out that factoid for those of you riveted by my sleep woes, it's a sleep phase delay culprit) I should be in better control. Ramble, ramble, ramble.

And yet, I am immediately grateful thanks to inees. It's a sunny day, and it's been never since I really, really thought about Holy Cats I'm so glad I can see the sun. Theoretically, I know about polar night because I watched a NetFlix docu about a polar station. inees, you bring the gravitas. I'd also send you energy vibes if I had any.

I was dreaming about watching a snorkeler in a scum filled pond...and feeling horror at a game that involved baby fish in a dry room being hit with paddles. The players were self righteous and said it was important to stop on the timer and watch your step on the way out for the sake of the remaining live fish. I think my environmentalism is in me to the core. Or perhaps I'm headed to vegetarian. idk.

I'm snorkeling in the one cup of coffee I'm allowing myself. Supposedly. I don't have anything to wear, fragrance wise. Nothing is calling to me. This makes me laugh inside my head, but not as hard as Jon Rodger's ski gif. So right for me, that gif. IT'S TESTING TIME and you all know I'm ready for it. Crack open my PdN sampler and go safe in my fragile state.
