    Default Very dry herbal fragrances

Recently I have been sick and I have used bundles of dried herbs (thyme, rosemary, lavender, basil, arruda) to help purify my room. These seem to have worked! i was wondering if anyone could recommend a fragrance that is really dry and herbal, maybe one that has helped you get through a sickness. Thank you!

    1. No, never blind buy (I do, but do as I say, not as I do. I'm taking no responsibility for your fragrance gambling).
    2. Get them both. You're a Basenoter and you know you're going to end up purchasing them both eventually.
    3. Yes, it has been reformulated.
    4. Looking for a signature scent? You've come to the wrong place.

It's not new or even made anymore, and it certainly isn't very illustrious, but I think Avon Blend 7 (1973) is one of the driest green scents I've encountered, once the anise top burns off.

I enjoy the herbs in Sisley's Eau de Campagne and Eau d'Italie Sienne l'Hiver.

A vetiver perfume might be good. I enjoy Hové Parfumeur's Vetiver, but there are many other dry vetivers.

When I am feeling queasy from an illness, sniffing lavender essential oil helps a lot.

    Hope you feel better soon!

Eau du Sud by Annick Goutal and Corsica Furiosa by Parfum d'Empire are my current two favorites. Extremely dry greens/herbals have become a mild obsession for me lately, and while I can't say I've ever thought of them in a medicinal sense, they do definitely have a sort of "purifying" effect on my sense of smell.

Best wishes to you for your improving health.

I'm getting more samples from small artisan houses, many of which are herbal focused, and look forward to seeing if they are this "dry" type...I suspect many are.

Agree on both of these, especially Corsica Furiosa.

One that's discontinued but still available, I think: Romeo Gigli Sud Est. It may be the most uncompromising herbal I've smelled; it's like an herb garden was plopped in the desert and left to desiccate.

Tom Ford - Noir Anthracite is one of the driest fragrances I have ever used and it does have a green-ness to it. Maybe worth sampling or checking out...

Sorry to tease with a discontinued, but Borsari Macchia Mediterranea is all about dried herbs to me. Still can be found on ebay on and off.

ooh! so want to lemming in on this but can't see a supplier back here in the Old World - report back, won't you?

    +1 for Corsica Furiosa

Granville is gorgeous - for me it's like Perrier with a splash of lemon fizzing on limestone (with herbs) - closest thing I've ever found to my dream 'flinty' perfume..

I think the driest, most herbal fragrance I’ve tried is DS & Durga’s Homesteader’s made exclusively for J. Crew. It’s great stuff, but it is tumbleweed dry..,

Lots of recommendations in here. Have you considered trying essential oils? All these herbs have some reasonably priced oils.

If you want perfume to wear, instead of wearing say thyme essential oil, perhaps try jo Malone. All the collection is based on flowers, herbs … plants.
